Been really lazy lately and haven't really bothered to go see any shows. The last one was Beyond the Black, Amaranthe, Ad Infinitum, and Butcher Babies in Göteborg. The first three were all amazing, but, holy shit, does BB suck.
My last gig was Kill Town Death Fest in Copenhagen a couple of weeks ago. What an amazing feeling to stand in a crowd with a beer in my hand watching some kickass death metal. And pits, damn, had forgotten they're a thing.
I was so excited cause we were supposed to go to Estonia, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Russia in August on a cruise, but that's officially cancelled. I think it'll be awhile before they'll want us folks from the US to travel anywhere... Yeah, it does look like Americans will be banned from mo...
It seems (one of) the first festivals this summer is Kotka Open Air in July. We should have a 500 attendant rule in place then, so it's not going to be a huge event. Friday's headliner is Barathrum and Saturday's Kalidia. I'm not holding my breathe over Kalidia being able to attend though seeing ho...

Not looking good for summer festivals. The Danish government banned all events until the end of August. I'm sure most European countries will follow suit. So...as it stands now, the first summer festival (at least in Denmark) is Kill Town Death Fest in Copenhagen at the beginning of September. Not t...
Booked flights for our beercation in California last night. Jan 30th - Feb 1st: Los Angeles Feb 1st - Feb 6th: San Diego (also Carlsbad, Oceanside) Feb 6th - Feb 12th: San Francisco (also Santa Rosa) San Francisco Beer Week and Russian River's Pliny the Younger release, here we come! :givebeer: :giv...
There's no language option on Android at least (or am I being dumb?)? The Finnish translation isn't complete and on some parts feels weird. I'd probably remove the Finnish language option altogether and stick with English, but at the very least you should be able to change the language. English inte...
Fuck. Just when I was starting to realize I would be going on 70k, because my mum wanted to go, life throws another curve ball at me. My mum was taken to a hospital on Saturday and went through an emergency surgery on Sunday. Not going into detail, but this pretty much rules out her, and I suppose ...

I'd love to see Chiara Tricarico's new band, Moonlight Haze , onbroad. Their debut album, De Rerum Natura, is amazing. Also, the new Memoriam sounds solid. And it's about time we got With the Dead on 70k (are they even active?). There. Girlie metal, old school death metal and doom metal. Oh, wait, f...
Flights are booked for me! So I'm in (2020) Guess I'll see you there then. Mum wants to go, so I guess after sitting the last two rounds out, I'm making my return in January. Andy will probably book Sabaton & a lot of thrash metal in honor of your return. ;) Most likely. At least Arkona a...
Does this rule Myrkur out for 2020? Cancellation: Myrkur 19.06.2019 Unfortunately we have to announce that MYRKUR has cancelled the gig at SUMMER BREEZE 2019. Our apologies to all those who were looking forward to seeing them. MYRKUR comments: “Unfortunately I will not be able to perform at this yea...
How about Ayreon? It is widely known that Arjen is unfortunately some sort of hermit. Although he has been showing up in public more often in the past 3 years with all these Ayreon special shows in Tilburg. Somehow I see it extremely difficult that he would show up on the boat - or on any boat at a...
Entombed (not Entombed L.G.) is not that far fetched. They (Nicke, Uffe and Alex) have played shows for, what, three years now. Would most definitely be an amazing announcement. How about Ayreon? The Gathering with Anneke (Mandylion 25th anniversary show!)? Better yet, The Gathering with Anneke and ...
Last show was Steelfest in Hyvinkää over the weekend. Damn, Immolation on Friday was mind-blowingly good, and Asphyx wasn't much behind on Saturday.
Next show is Symphony X on Friday.
Seeing how my mum wants to do 70k again in 2020, I guess that pretty much means I have to go too. And that means I should update my wish list in my signature. Quite a few of my favourites were on this year, and that sucks, but I guess there are a few bands I'd like to see. From Finland: Crimso...
Swallow the Sun announced their new album and shows in Finland starting suspiciously on February 7th. Maybe they're the next S band? They were the first band to play three sets, so it would make sense (in the 70k way of making sense) that they are the first back to back band on 70k.
I'm too lazy to go to gigs nowadays, so I guess my next gig will be Within Temptation and Beyond the Black in Warsaw in three weeks. I do have three beer events before that - and the Warsaw Beer Festival on the same day as the gig (next to the venue even), so I guess my laziness only extends to goin...
My deposit was about 2000 euros in Iceland. They took it off the same day I returned the car though. Unlike in Denmark in July, where Hertz had the deposit (about 600 euros) blocked on my card for well over a month. Called them twice and the only response I got was that it will clear in a week or tw...
Not really. At 4 am, your choices are pizza, those little sandwiches at the Promenade Cafe, and room service...which you might finally receive at 5 am. :D Was the late night buffet not open in 2018? In 2017 that was perfect for some late night snacks. They kept the Windjammer open until, umm, late.
Candlemass just announced the return of Johan Längqvist to the band. As some of you remember, he was a guest of the band on their second set in, umm, 2012, when they played Epicus Doomicus Metallicus in its entirety. Seems logical to celebrate him becoming a full-time member by doing 70k again.
