Last concerts were Imagine Dragons, Atmosphere, and Panic at the Disco (All part of Major League Baseball’s All Star Game Festivities). Tonight’s show is, (The last time that I posted one of these bands, I gave Laura a 70’s flashback ). Foreigner, Styx, and Don Felder.
Tonight, One Republic with The Script and American Authors. Yes, I just a sucker for a catchy verse in a pop tune “Everything that kills me, makes me fell alive”.
Sheryl Crow plays at the Canadian Pacific Railroad yard, outdoors from a boxcar. Tonight show is an unusual place but it is one of those things that you just have to go and see because you live close by and it is a Saturday night plus the fact that the gig is OUTDOORS in the middle of December in Mi...
For Laura, a Kansas flashback. m Another of their classic tunes and the album (Audio Visions) that begins their period of being a Christian band. Lots of changes occurred in the band at this time. m A little Kansas and Wagner. m Their Christian sound with a new lead singer. m m And Foghat’s lead sin...
Laura, glad to see that you went to see Kansas and glad to know that they are touring again. I was just playing my CD of Kansas’ Leftoverture (remastered with extra tracks) last week. I will have to see if they are going to play the Twin Cities any time soon. And for Sgt. B, glad to hear that you we...
Tonight, Nine Inch Nails with Explosions in the Sky. How was the show? Nine Inch Nails' headline gig at Lollapalooza in early August was one of my fave gigs from 2013 - definitely in my top three. Trent Reznor literally blows me away (in a very good way). Last gig for me: last two nights - the Cold...
@ Laura, (With the deadhead sticker on a Cadillac line being my favourite since I was once a major (Grateful) deadhead You being a Deadhead also surprised me because on the cruise of 2012 it took you soooooooo long to recognize my Grateful Dead (Electric Shull) hockey jersey (Dead 1). Two other woma...
Tonight, The Eagles. Too bad that Henley or Frey can’t convince Jonny Lang to sit in on a couple of songs since Jonny is playing just down the street. Damn you Michael for giving me another 70s flashback! How was it? I'm pretty lame that I never saw The Eagles - don't know why really, I liked them ...
Today and through the night. Grand RockTember Music Fest with, Trixter, Kip Winger, LA Guns, Firehouse, Warrant, Lita Ford, Dokken, Skid Row, and Tesla. This line up is so like, a totally, 80's time warp. To really round off this line up it would have been cool to have Ratt, Motley Crue, Def Leppard...
Tonight, 8/23/13 Volbeat, HIM, and Airbourne Saturday, 8/24/13 Sammy Hagar (4 Decades of Rock Tour) (Michael Anthony, The Woboritas, Denny Carmassi, and Bill Church from Montross) with Buckcherry, and Rival Sons (Somewhere before Sammy's set or Sheryl's set I hope to catch a little bit of Blue Oyste...
Been watching form my Farscape and Dollhouse DVD collection plus old TV series on METV such as Lost in Space, The Rifleman, Batman, Star Trek, It Takes a Thief, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, all of these old Sixties TV shows. For Viathyn, DO watch Serenity.
Tonight, Cherrie Currie. A very unexpected return visit by Cherie Currie. Well worth seeing her for a second time this year. This actually will begin a very long set of shows (12) for me over the next seven weeks.
Tonight, back to the 80’s with Firehouse, Warrant, and everybody's favorite thorn in their rosy butt Brett Michaels. Oops, I mean to say “Every Rose has its Thorns”.
If one cannot make a Styx show live this is a highly recommended DVD of theirs with the current lineup. The best that I have seen of the band in years. Also has a very cool opening from that 70’s era. Styx: The Grand Illusion / Pieces of Eight- Live [DVD / 2CD] Once upon a time a very long time ago....
Last gig: STYX on July 3rd at the Naperville Rib Fest, a huge annual food, music, & carnival fest in Naperville, Illinois. m Awesome! I will never tire of this band and their music....a big favorite of mine for nearly 40 years. Hailing from Chicago originally, they always draw a huge and enthus...
Hey, a little Three Dog Night derailment. Very COOL. They produced a treasure trove of hits in that 70’s era. Too many favorites but I’ll try to give some of my more favorite hits of TDN. http://youtu.be/UiKcd7yPLdU http://youtu.be/dFypAB7nYGA And for some literary leisure reading try, “Three Dog Nightmare: The Chuck Negron Story”.
