Coming up a few festivals:
June 9-13 Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig (Eluveitie, Moonsorrow, Heidevolk, Finsterforst, Chtonic etc..)
June 17-18 Myötätuulirock in Finland (Ensiferum, Korpiklaani, Moonsorrow, Finntroll, Metsatöll etc...)
July 11-17 Metalcamp in Slovenia
July 22-24 Tuska in Helsinki (Amon Amarth, Turisas, Moonsorrow, Wintersun etc..)
It looks like I will be stalking Moonsorrow (or maybe they are stalking me ) during the summer as they are playing at all the festivals I will be attending
Heidenfest with Turisas, Finntroll, Arkona etc... is also on my list but that will be in october, still deciding where to see it, probably Oberhausen.

Still haven't decided whether to go to Myötätuulirock or not. If not, I guess we'll meet at Metalcamp then MadameLePink.

Wasn't too keen on seeing the new Sepultura, but I gotta admit that they did the old tunes justice. Still don't get why both Sepultura and Cavalera Conspiracy feel the need to close with Roots, though.

Next is Sunday the 29th with Acrassicauda from Iraq. For those of you who have not seen Heavy Metal in Baghdad yet, here's a link to stream the movie from the website of the group that made it: http://www.vbs.tv/watch/acrassicauda--2/heavy-metal-in-baghdad-feature and here's the link for the follow-up, Heavy Metal in Istanbul: http://www.vbs.tv/watch/acrassicauda--2/dvd-extra-heavy-metal-in-istanbul
Absolutely amazing story. I hope I get the chance to talk to the band at the show.

Next planned gig is Big4 in Göteborg on July 3.
Might attend Metaltown festival before that, but still have not decided.

I'm still not completely sold on the style, but the new tracks were strong and their stage presence was enormous. The crowd (certainly fueled somewhat by alcohol) was going nuts!
Next gig will likely be Unleash the Archers and The Order of Chaos in Calgary at the distillery.
I needs me some new local discs!

When was that? I should've stopped on the way back from Van. I remember really liking their live show but not being crazy about their album. Do they have a new one coming out?

Yeah dude that was Saturday at the CanHo. They're done recording, mixing, and mastering their album.. but it likely won't see the light of day for another six months or so. I've never seen that venue so packed!
How was Vancouver? Didja do well at nationals?
Stained Class wrote:I have a plan to win nationals and you are a part of that plan (as is Marlo, Ryan and Anika). I will brief you on friday at Unleash the Archers.
