Damn they were horrible. Had to leave half-way through their set. But, it was nice to hang out with Fredrik again.

Damn Amaranthe was awesome on Saturday. I mostly went to see the venue (hadn't been there before) since I've been hearing a lot of bad things about it. Turned out the venue is pretty good if you don't stay in the bar in the back. And the band was amazing. So freaking energetic and arrogant in a good way. Not sure if it was intentional, but they had the crowd chant "Suomi Finland Perkele" on two different occasions - Impaled Nazarene played their album by that very same name on that very same night in its entirety at Club Prkl (Perkele) to celebrate the album's release 20 years ago. I hope it was an intentional nod to IN.

I'm now really excited to see Amaranthe a couple of times next summer. And I do hope they end up on 70k next winter.

Oh, yeah, my next gig is apparently Ensiferum's acoustic set in a record store in Helsinki on Friday. And no, wasn't my idea to go.

And only a week to go to the Anneke&Arjen gig! Can't wait!

We'll be doing our best to dodge them on March 6th, really hoping they're headlining (which is likely since Tampa is so death metal) so we can leave after Behemoth. Super nice dudes, just not my cup o' metal

Last gig was Anneke and Arjen last night and what a gig it was. Easily the best gig this year so far.

Oh, I managed to miss Ensiferum's acoustic set on Friday even if we were going there with a friend (who was obviously the one wanting to see them) and Jonne (of Korpiklaani) on Saturday - went to the venue right after his set. I think that was a great success.

Saw Judas Priest and Dragonforce Thursday night. What a gig!

Don't like the new Dragonforce album but they at least played my favourite songs (Three Hammers and Ring of Fire) off it. And they played Valley of the Damned - my favourite song of all time.

Judas Priest were great - Halford had more outfit changes than Katie Perry

But the stage presence of the entire band was amazing. All looked like they were having soooo much fun, and so were the crowd!

Not sure yet, but I think my next show will be Delain in Amsterdam on Friday 13th. Then Vader, Hate and Vesania on the next day in the Netherlands as well.
