The festival is located at Sotocje, which lies inbetween the two mountain rivers called Tolminka and Soca. METALDAYS has two "festival-owned" beaches for you relax on. But the two rivers aren't the only reason Sotocje
is that beautiful: Tolmin is located only approx. 65 kilometers off the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, which really gives you that holiday feel. Also the road you're travelling on will lead you through the Alps, a scenerie that will astonish both full grown metalheads and families with children alike. The METALDAYS area is also part of the Julijske Alpe National Parks, and the river Soca is one of the cleanest in Europe.

If you're not interested in camping, then you'll have to be quick on deciding if you're going or not. Well, the hotels aren't taking reservations just yet, but I guess you can try and mail them. There might still be some apartments available in town - I know two of my friends got one last week. I can give you the details of where to ask.

Man oh man....would love to go to this fest - especially after hearing about the great times everyone had this past summer!! Of all the Euro metal fests I know of, this seems like one of the best. The location in particular, seems really cool. But....Hmmm....due to major US travel plans in the works for next summer, will have to think about doing this in 2014 at the earliest.

The guys of 2Guys1TV, which also made a TV report from Metalcamp 2011 and Metalcamp 2012, will shoot a report for the METALDAYS 2013 aswell.

We're working on it, the addition of Primordial and Powerwolf really hooked us! Is the festival actually all 6 days? We're curious about how much time we would have to go anywhere else (like Prague ). 2nd Stage Winners get Opener slot at METALDAYS 2013
 
The two winners of the 2nd Stage of last year`s Metalcamp, get the chance to open the Main Stage to present themselves to a bigger audience than on the 2nd Stage.
The first band is an Italian one called "ArseA".
They stand for classic Thrash Metal and are active since 2006.
We hope that you`ll check these guys out, because they will make you headbang and moshin` like there would be no tomorrow.

The second band that will get the opportunity to open the Main Stage at METALDAYS 2013 is called REST IN FEAR.
This Austrian metal-machine stands for Melodic Death Metal at it`s best and after their foundation in 2007 and the release of their first full-length album, called "Insert Yourself", they are ready to destroy the METALDAYS Main Stage. So be prepared!

Quick question for those of you who went to Metalcamp this past year:

Did you fly into Ljubljana? And if so, what's the best way to get to Tolmin from there? We're starting to plan our trip, and it's looking slightly more complicated than the Croatia trip, as we were able to fly directly into Zadar. I'd rather not have to rent a car if I can avoid it (unless anyone else is going and willing to do the driving, then I'm in). From what I'm reading there's a train that goes close to Tolmin (5km away) and a bus that goes direct. Any advice is much appreciated

Thinking about flying in and out of Ljubljana because I haven't been there; I have been to Vienna though. Haven't tried too many flight maps yet though so it might be worth considering.

I think Ljubljana and Venice are the nearest airports. My friends flew to Venice this year and took a train to Gorizia/Nova Gorica and a bus to Tolmin.

It was mentioned that a few days before the festival a few people may meet up in Venice as we did Vienna this past year. There is a F-Book group for all this shenanigans.

^^ Quote fail? Yeah I had considered having us fly into Italy last year as well as this year. However, I've been to Venice in July, and can warn you that it is BALLS ASS HOT at that time of year. I've lived in Florida for 28 years so I do pretty well it the heat, but it was so bad in Venice that we were supposed to be there 4 days but after 2 days we said screw it and bailed out to nice, cool Switzerland. However, if a group of fellow metalheads are going to be there, we'll definitely consider it In the end it's all going to depend on how much time Brian get can off from work. I don't know how much I care about seeing Ljubljana, but I really want to get a day or two to go back to Lake Bled. If you didn't get a chance to get there this year, I highly recommend it, it's so beautiful.

Yeah I'm thinking we're probably going to skip Italy. I definitely want to make it back there (I'm second generation Italian, I still have relatives over there, but they're older than dirt and one of them is a nun ) and I've only been to the northern parts (Trieste, Venice, and Lake Como). Summer is just such a hard time to go, at the height of the heat and the tourist season; I'd like to go back in fall or spring. Andy and Marlo, come to Ljubljana instead

Sure thing! I'd say cave tour is even better as it's stripped off this whole commercial bollocks and you get simple flashlight in your hand, small group of 20 people and you enter for one hour into pitch black tunnels, having a chance to see it the way it was centuries ago.
For enthusiasts there's possibility to book proper 3-4 hours cave exploration with professional guide, complete equipment and video recording of your tour. Something on our "to do" list.
Just make sure you see "Descent" before

I've seen The Descent, it freaked me right the hell out; Brian almost lost a huge handful of hair due to me spazzing and grabbing whatever was closest, I don't handle jump horror very well lol. Unfortunately I have no experience with spelunking, but that does sound awesome though!
