Anthrax will play the entire Among the Living album during the tour. Waiting to see some tour dates show up. Not sure if I'll go but probably would if the tour hits Arizona.

Yeah I was there with Rob ;) He's right though, these kinds of touring festivals very rarely have Canadian dates.

Nope, sorry. His antics don't amuse me much but it doesn't take away from the great tunes at all.

The .5 was for Municipal Waste. I like how they sound enough that they wouldn't discourage me from checking them out but I'm just not really a fan (yet?).

I couldn't stand Municipal Waste on record. And I have a reason to like the band, I know the drummer from my NY days. But I still didn't like them. So I saw them just cause I knew Dave, (in the Spectrum Lounge) and they surprised the hell out of me and were alot of fun.

Saw them on the pool deck and they were even better. One of the most fun times I've had at any show. Totally won me over, so now I'm giddy that they are on this tour. You tell me this a month ago and I laugh in your face.

    Serendipity I suppose

It was a very fun set though I think I was more interested in the crowd having fun slipping and sliding around the deck than the actual music. Don't know if I'd like them live without the floor to slide on

Glad the local show is at First Avenue. That will be a good venue for Metal Alliance.

    Nice!

High On Fire just added to the bill!!

Have seen them twice and really enjoyed. They were here a few weeks back but were opening for Goatwhore who I don't care for so this is a great make-up visit for me :headbanger:

Likely the best metal fest I'll be attending this year so am stoked that they're still adding bands and seem to be adding nothing but my faves :shred:

I was already in just for Anthrax playing all of Among The Living. High On Fire just being added just made it even better. Exodus, MW, and Holy Grail are all fine. No issues there. This will be a sweet show.

Now that High on Fire was added, decided to go to this for sure. Been getting more and more into all things Matt Pike....and have a new appreciation for HoF after seeing them a second time last month....and chatting with some HoF/Sleep/Pike superfans at that gig (and one was a fellow Chicagoan and 70K 2011 alum who oddly I'd never met before). Also really dig Municipal Waste who will be worth seeing again so soon after the Barge pre-party. Have never seen Holy Grail or Anthrax (don't really know them much), but why not? Also, only saw a few songs of Exodus on 70K 2011, so another why not? :P But at the moment and at the very least, will love seeing HoF and MW again!

I didn't like what I heard from HoF but seems like a lot of people like them so if I go I'll definitely watch them.

    Definitely my fave HoF effort!!

Laura, Holy Grail has only released one album (Crisis in Utopia)and it was easily one of the best that year and the reason they've been touring constantly ever since. It immediately cemented them as one my favourite new bands. Definitely check it out soon!!
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

My High On Fire rankings (more oldschool fan)

    Blessed Black Wings
    Surrounded By Thieves
    De Vermis Mysteriis
    The Art of Self Defense
    Snakes For the Divine
Death Is This Communion (not that it's bad, but I mean.... the only reason this is so high is because ALOT of people got into them during this album)

Rob Caggiano has left Anthrax http://loudwire.com/anthrax-guitarist-r ... from-band/

It looks like he just wants to do something else musically and is leaving on good terms with the band.

Thanks for this info Rob, as I've yet to listen to them. Cool that Holy Grail are now on the boat for this year's cruisers too!! I called the House of Blues today and tickets will go on sale this Friday so I plan on trotting over there on my lunch hour that day. (On a related note, I bought my Meshuggah/Animals as Leaders ticket there on Monday). I love the HoB...it seemed like most metal shows I was going to beginning in 2005 were at HoB - Opeth, Dimmu, Behemoth, KMFDM, Cradle of Filth, Amon Amarth, Motorhead, Nightwish, Tarja and more...but in the past few years, more & more metal shows are being booked at the much smaller Reggie's & Bottom Lounge. While I like those venues very much, have been missing HoB, so it will be nice to go back again for Meshuggah & this Metal Alliance extravaganza. Five bands for 30 bucks - can't go wrong with that!! :D

Just Seattle. I am working on trying to get to New England Hardcore and Metal Festival April 19-21. All 4 bands are playing that as well as Opeth, Katatonia, Suicidal Tendencies and a lot more...

    SWEET! :bangers:

That's, what, about a four hour drive (not counting any delays at the border) to Detroit?

A friend is picking up tickets for us for the local show. She works near the venue. Figure buying them at the venue will save a beer or 2 in service fees. :bangers:
