I'll take that again! It ended so well last time. :D

Too bad we'll be playing Pittsburgh this time around. I'd have loved a little bit of payback for all that heartache

    Meh.

    COLUMBUS. :death:

I think that's who I'll root for. Though to be honest if my boys are out I can watch objectively without caring who wins

Well, at least the Sharks held up their end. I watch the Kings/Wild and the Kings were just flat. Hopefully they rebound tonight, need them to drop the Redwings.

They're just doing it to troll you :P

Really, Boston looks like shit and has pretty much all season. The way they've played all year, they should be an easy out in the first round. :bitch:

Haven't found a link to a playoff version of HTC yet but here's a link to the round by round picks pool that I play with friends. I think you can enter from anywhere but only Canadians are eligible for prizes. Anyone who wants to join the group I'm in, PM me for group name and password. The $20 per person/winner take all competition is optional. Just have to post in trash talk before day 1 puck drop as to whether you're in or out for the wager.

    http://fantasy.sportsnet.ca/sportsnet/hkplayoff13/promo

Correction - It looks as though there may not be one for playoffs (can't seem to find one yet anyways) but there's the brackets one here http://hattrick.nhl.com/playoff_challenge (link may fail if you're not logged in in which case, just doa a search for NHL - Hat Trick Challenge - Playoffs - Brackets)

Clear elbow (which seems to be his second favorite move, after kneeing) though many Kings fans are arguing that Pominville had his head down. His head position didn't change and even if it had, it was still an elbow from Brown.

Well, the Kings can suck it. They literally shit the bed these last 2 games. Some of the worst hockey I've seen all season.

With the Wings win, the 'Yotes are officially eliminated. CBJ now face an elimination game tomorrow night in Dallas. They're still alive, but they have to beat Dallas. Lose in any way, shape or form, and Detroit beats Nashville, we're done.

I'd like to say the guys will pull it off for you but it's basically the Nashville Admirals playing at the moment so there's no guarantee. If it comes down to the last game, as much as I'd like to see the Jackets in and the Dead Wings out, I still have to cheer for my boys, that's just how it is.

Wow! Bruins looked like a hockey team tonight! Granted, Tampa was on the second leg of a back-to-back with travel but it was nice to see Boston hit, fight, look clean coming out of the zone, work some nice scoring chances, make some outstanding saves and play a complete game for the shutout. Now let's hope it wasn't just one game and they can start playing like this for the playoffs.

Once again, the Stars will end with a winning record, but out of the playoffs. Ran into some teams that were losing a bunch of games and playing sloppy at the end of the season, but the only games they got their act together for were wins against the Stars. And the Stars, after winning 80 games in a row when leading after 2, lost at least 5 games when leading after 2 this year. Several when they had 2 goal leads. The Stars just didn't get enough points for losing compared to all the other teams.

All that said, I am impressed that this team took it as far as they did. After getting rid of captain Morrow, Roy, and Jagr (to name a few), some youngsters came in and started producing and winning. Even when they got injured, namely Chaisson (6 goals in first 6 NHL games), someone else stepped in. After the trade deadline, this is about the best we could have expected if we had kept all those players. And while I still feel that we should have received more out of those trades (Nieuwendyk really seems to love draft picks), at least we got some shit that might eventually turn into something. (I'll be tracking it pretty close. Give up 8 established NHL players, and the return is 2 mediocre NHL players, 4 "hopeful to be 4th line" prospects, and 4 late draft picks?)

I found it interesting that 8th in the West was projected to be at 51 points, then 52, 53, 54... looks like 55 will be the magic number. Phoenix, Detroit, Columbus, and Dallas just kept winning since the trade deadline. I was hoping for det and min to collapse at the end putting Dallas and Phoenix in. Minnesota almost kept up their side of the bargain.

EDIT: Oh, and I'm hoping for a Pitt-Bos ECF for draft reasons.
Never take anything I say seriously.

I was impressed that Dallas stayed in the race after selling off so much talent. Now they can battle the Coyotes to stay out of the Pacific cellar.

The Pacific was so tough, especially with the 2 hour time difference. I'm really looking forward to the new conferences, though I think it was a mistake to move Detroit into the East. They should have moved Nashville or Columbus. Those 2 teams don't have the Western roots that det does. However, I suppose it allows for some new and interesting original six (northeastern bias) matchups.

I'm sure the Original Six matchups were part of the reason why Detroit was moved. Those matchups look like easy money makers for the league.

Clear elbow (which seems to be his second favorite move, after kneeing) though many Kings fans are arguing that Pominville had his head down. His head position didn't change and even if it had, it was still an elbow from Brown.

seriously? brown had his back to p-ville and had the puck on his stick. if pominville comes in and tries to check brown like a man, no issues. instead, he bails out at the last moment with a dainty poke check and leads with his head at elbow level. slow mo looks bad, but watch full speed and you see brown bracing himself for a check by dropping lower. yes, he moves his shoulder and elbow, but not intentionally at P's leading head. bottom line is Shanahan wanted brown out when the kings played his red wings so they have a shot at the playoffs.
as has been said many times on this thread - screw the red wings! :death:

delusional? maybe. but this was real Image

if it was such a cheap shot by brown, why did Pominville's teammate skate right by and not jump brown? Brown gets 2 games for this and Shanahan lets Nash do this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9jZDEQ_a3Y without any suspension?

Go Kings Go! :death: :death: :death:

Nash should have been suspended. Just because Nash didn't get suspended doesn't mean that Brown's hit wasn't dirty. It means Shanahan is inconsistent.

Him having a Stanley Cup doesn't make him a clean player either. Oh look! I have one of those too!

Nobody runs Brown because Minnesota is in danger of losing a playoff spot right now and they really can't get into that stuff at the moment. Situational awareness. Also, lack of response doesn't mean the hit was clean.
