To me, that looks like a fan job. But I think if you mixed those colors with the new logo, you'd have something. The more I look at it, I think the new logo is very purposely generic, as it allows more people to be comfortable with it. The more complex and symbolic shit that I'd like to see would just confuse most people. So I think it's smart on the side of ownership to "simplify" the logo.
Interesting movement, in that they traded a 6th round pick for the rights to Gonchar, then signed him for 2 years at $10M. I like the move. The team is instantly better. And it's an interesting insight into the new GM, since Gonchar isn't exactly young.
