My buddy recently showed me on of the strangest/creepiest movies I've ever run across.
    Its called "Feed."

Categories include: psychological thriller, web cam porn, bbw porn, cannibalism, murder, torture and revenge.

Is all the violence fake or are we talking authentic footage?

Just wondering if that's what your extreme warning is about cuz that just crosses a line for my personal viewing interests.

its all acting. No real life footage.
The warning is for the creepiness factor.

Hmm, what I consider weird could be quite different to eveyone else. One that comes to mind though is a very weird Czech film I watched called Neco z Alenky which is basically a retelling of alice in wonderland but in a very bizarre way. It has a lot of stop motion animation and most of the animals are actually real dead animals or animal skeletons being used and there is some puppetry involved too. Honestly, I loved the film for it's weirdness but I like weird stuff like that. I could probably recommend a lot of films as I do constantly look for films that are pushing boundaries and most are smaller foreign films. You need to get away from hollywood to find the truly weird stuff :beerwink:

That sounds a little too fuckin weird for me.

I'm going to slightly derail this thread because I don't consider this film to be weird but it's good and it's about metalheads... and also I don't care.

Who has seen the film Fubar? I thought it was a good entertaining film and kind of weird in it's own way. The best thing to come out of Canada since Canadians :beerwink:

I think weird is an understatement. I made the mistake of reading about it before lunch break and just reading the premise caused me to lose my appetite.

The human centipede was suspenseful/ funny more than weird! (I think my perception of Europeans has been changed due to foreign horror films; aren't all Germans like Hostel and human centipede? )

One movie that really made me feel uncomfortable and creepy and like I was going to hell for watching it was Salo: 120 Days in sodom.

Ever read the "Ichi the Killer" manga? I'd be surprised if the movie could actually match that level of brutality. I even had to skip some parts.

I have not seen this film, but am familiar with it. We have a strong film (book & periodical) collection where I work and quite a few people have come in to do research on Pasolini over the years. Salo was his final work before he was murdered in 1975. He was an unusual, intriguing character to say the least!

He was actually attacked when they showed his film in Brazil, because they thought the scenes he was showing were real!

    Srpski FIlm (A Serbian Film)

Definitely not for the faint of heart or anybody that has problems disconnecting a fictional movie from reality. Some extremely vile acts depicted... but yes, they are only depictions. Supposedly they were trying to make an allegory about the plight of the Serbian people in past years, and I can kind of see that, but I'm sure much of it was to one up the shock value factor. I'm sure some of it could have been done more as an implied type of thing, but hey, no one is paying me to write/direct any movies...

Pretty high production values for such a fucked up film.

Definitely an extreme movie, so be forewarned if you decide to check it out... Wikipedia has a plot summary and many of the reviews have spoilers so you know what you are getting yourself into.
Have a good time...all the time.

Last flick I saw that made me feel off/weird was Mysterious Skin.

If you want a off movie, that is a good pick. Granted my faves are ones that mess with the mind (ex: Jacob's Ladder) then overt gore etc. If you are going for that, the internet folk are crazy about A Serbian Film. Nothing shocking here but if that is your goal.

Overall the best stuff I've seen is based on the story and not over the top gore / CGI blue-ray shit. Some black and whites will never be topped no matter how many remakes, remastered, etc.

    Goodluck!

Hard Candy. Really messes with your head on whose "side" your on in it. Dialogue is fantastic too.

Agreed! Hardy Candy is a great movie that kept me changing sides until the very end, and even then I wasn't really sure.

I'd like to add movies by Lars Von Trier to this list.
Most notably, Antichrist, which I liked as a film, but had some scenes in it that I could've lived without. Despite that, it does have a lot of symbolism that gets weird.
Also "The Idiots", which deals on normal people acting like mentally retarded people, so they can get the benefits these people get.
Then there is Dogville / Manderlay, which he describes as movies taking on the american values of freedom (Manderlay) and hospitality (Dogville). They're filmed without a set, just the actors on a stage, but the performences really convince you that they're there. I really recommend these two.
He also did Riget, a mini series about a hospital that later became Kingdom Hospital by Stephen King. Riget is better.
I think his most "normal" movie is Dancer in the Dark, with Bjork. It's a musical of sorts, but has nice twists.

All in all, I recommend all of these, except Antichrist. It was over the top for me.
