Ha! I like that idea of Swedes taking over the ship! (you crazy Vikings you!) speaking of tall...I met Brodd from the forum at Wacken and he is very tall! 6'6" I believe....and he's from Denmark. Which begs the question - whassup with all you good-lookin', tall (often blond) folk from Scandinavia?

ah Red, if I weren't so buzzed on wine, I'd make the trek to Renton. I would LOVE to see you & Hodgy tonight, but I also really need to make shit is in order here on the homefront before we leave here on Friday.

Leaving the teens, the dog, the uncle, etc. in charge of the house. lol

However, I will be seeing the Fu instead of Motorhead on 2/4/11. Wouldn't miss it for the world! Mwah!

Well, you all showed me yours so I guess I'll show you mine. I'm usually on the other side of the lens taking the photos, but there are a few of me floating around. Here's about the closest shot of me that's been taken in years. It's from one of the roller derby games I've played this year -- I don't usually walk around wearing a helmet!

Just to complete the "story" here's another photo from a different bout. That's me with the gold stripe on my helmet trying to prevent the opposing teams pivot from being able to cut over and cream our jammer as she makes it thru the pack:

This is one of me and my closest companion for 12 years, Meridian, who passed away in September.

Anyone who's read my forum posts has a pretty good idea of what I'm like, and shy doesn't really fit, as I'm not really shy at all. I do, however have a morbid fear of initiating conversations or meetings in social situations, so now that you know what I look like, don't be afraid to say "hi" even if I look perfectly content to be sitting by myself or even seem a bit stand-offish!

I think you've got me confused with Scott.

No, you can try the hug thing. I'm in this semi-permanent state of being "bushy" (Canadian colloquialism about being awkward around people after spending time in remote areas) living up here, and find large crowds of people in general takes some getting used to. Believe it or not, it's resulted in being more receptive to stuff like strangers coming out of the blue and touching me without trying to throw an elbow or something! It might help if you're wearing a Homer Simpson mask so you're more recognizable as your avatar. On second thought, scratch that. THAT would freak the hell out of me.

The The tigertemple is an awesome place to visit ! I recomend it to everyone that plans to visit Thailand, well worth the money, about 60 euros in total , all extras included ( about $ 95 ) with private limoride from Bangkok ( ca 3 hours ) entrance fee, play with the cubs, have photos taken with the big guys and to see them play in the water after the official " show " and limoride back to Bangkok...been there twice and plan to return there more times, and in the future to become a volunteer to take care of them.

Very cool Anika! So much respect for pivots! I couldn't be a pivot if my life depended on it. I skate too fast and don't realise it most of the time, so I'd be so far away from the pack and just hinder the pack's cause. So horns for you! Pivots are easily the best skaters on the track. Much love to our pivots!

Truth be told I'm not a great pivot, YET, but I'm hoping to be one day. I've got lots of good teachers on my team! LOL, should I shout at you, "QUIT CHASING! STOOOoooP!" or "BRIiiiiiidge!" at you on broad as part of your training?

I'm sure you will be! Especially if you have good teachers. We have two excellent pivots, one each in our in-house teams (luckily, otherwise it would be quite unfair) and they are great teachers but I think I'm a lost cause.
