I love dogs and exotic animals. I do not like cats. highly allergic to them and i find them boring as a pet. I do not have dogs anymore because they do not live very long and you grow so attached to them that you get your heart broken over and over again when they die or have to be put down. I just could not handle another dog dying on me. So in January 1994 I put down $$$$ for a Congo African Grey Parrot that the pet store was waiting for the egg to hatch. It hatched on February 06, 1994 and I hand fed my baby grey (spoiled her and hand fed her for 1 year). She is 16 now and two days ago, she bit me for the very first time. on my left palm and it hurt like a mother fucker. I was a bit surprised because I know she loves me. I can see it in her eye and how she talks and acts around me.

So, here is Ashley- my 16 year old parrot that thinks she is my kid.

Yeah, I know it is going to be rough when my dog dies. I can see that I would probably be very hesitant to get another one when that day comes.

I should have a good long while until I have to face that day though (she is only about 2.5 now).

We lost one of our crew today. Had to put our cat Haley to sleep.

She had a good life and will be watching over our activities on the patio from her new place in the back yard.

i had a room mate back some years ago who owned an african grey ... coolest bird i had ever seen.

this bird use to make the sound of the phone ringing (when i wasn't in the room) and i'd come in to answer and the phone wasn't ringing anymore, but the damn bird was laughing ..... did this a few times. so i went around the corner and watched him, sure as shit, did it again.

he would also have complete conversations with himself and sound just like the people he was imitating.

and one other thing he'd do is when he was younger he lived by the airport .... learned how to screech like a jet taking off ........ not fun at 3:00am in the morning but funny as hell when he'd do it.

also loved to ride the ceiling fun ...... crazy bird

I feel ur pain. I gotta put my dog down tommrw morning. I'm crushed!! Can't stop myself from sobbing. I think this has been the hardest decision I have ever had to make!! She's been a great dog..14 years of fun! She's got a tumor that is inoperable .. Even if they try she will die. It's now opened up and bleeding. I can't epress how heart wrenching this is....

Aw honey...I know the day will come that my pets will pass too and I feel your pain.....My good friend just lost her boxer about a year ago, and they took a foot print that she is going to have inked onto her shoulder....I though it was the best idea ever.....Im sorry for your loss hun!

My daughter had two rats one time......and within a matter of three months those two rats....turned into 24 rats!!! (horny little bastards)

I used to raise a green Iguana named Mikey...(only to find out "HE".....was a Michelle) yikes!...Oh well....I will find a pic of HE/SHE
I also had a pet chicken that had wandered into our yard one day and was our "pet" for about 4 years.....and a pet Goose (very messy)

I have DUKE (a 9 yr old Boxer)...and PUPPY (a three yr old Pit Bull) now and thats it.....I will get some pics up sometime over the weekend for ya.....
