What's your last and next non-metal show?

    by AstridDragon » Sat Dec 08, 2018 8:21 am

Just curious what else my fellow metal-heads listen to and go choose to see live!

My last show was NGHTMRE and my next is Hijinx festival:

Last metal was Korpiklaani/Arkona and next is Gwar!

    Next show: Steven Wilson

I also enjoy celtic & irish music, but it is hard to find live shows of such around here. Flamenco is nice as well

Last non-metal show: Moonrunner83, Purity and Control, and a couple other local synthwave acts
Next one: Unclear at this point. Maybe Cold Cave. Maybe something local. Maybe I won't go to any non-metal shows until Mechanismus in Seattle (ok, that one's unlikely)

No but honestly I think I'd go see her live. She's great.

Mine was a local band called The Glorias (60's & 70's style rock). But as the bass player is my father in law and I'm more or less their official videographer, I was more occupied monitoring the 10 cameras we used to capture their concert then the actual gig.
Besides that the last non-metal show was either The Hooters or Scooter.

The next one will be Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung.

I have wanted to see them in concert and since they are both doing farewell tours I had/have to go now or never. I will also be seeing Jimmy Buffett in June!

I wonder if those are for real farewell tours. I've seen a bunch of artists do "last tours" and then... have another one 6 months to a year later, ha.

Personally I just saw Coheed and Cambria with Foxing, the day after the cruise. Next is Excision and various other EDM.

I'd presume comedy shows count as non-metal?

We've got tickets to see Lewis Black sometime in early March, and Patton Oswalt sometime in May. So stoked to see Patton!

Lewis is pretty funny, a lot of political and social commentary, but it's so angry! Plenty of youtube clips and a few of his specials are on Netflix, I believe.

For Patton, I think we ended up getting like 4th row, or something seemingly close to the stage. I'm honestly more excited about that than any other show this year, metal or otherwise. Except for the cruise, of course!

Last was 311 and Offspring Never Ending Summer tour
Next isn't decided yet, haven't committed tickets to Dave Chappelle, Patton Oswalt, Rolling Stones, or Weird Al yet. At least as far as announced shows, I know 311 will tour again this summer.

Next isn't decided yet, haven't committed tickets to Dave Chappelle, Patton Oswalt, Rolling Stones, or Weird Al yet. At least as far as announced shows, I know 311 will tour again this summer.
Can I vote for Weird Al? I just love him so much!
Totally. I saw him in 2011 or 2012, he walked through the audience during one song and we met eyes, which I think is safe to say means he and I are best friends now.

    It is known.

Hm, if you've seen him already and haven't seen some of the others, go see them!

We've got tickets to see Lewis Black sometime in early March, and Patton Oswalt sometime in May. So stoked to see Patton!
---and I'm just about to order tickets for Jimmy Carr; unfortunately, I can't go to Dylan Morran three weeks later...
