Bump! Cause I've got a (new) good one. :P

So, we finally were able to check out the final disc of GoT second season and watched it late last night after the kids went to bed (don't endorse them watching it at their ages). Wow - the series deserves every accolade it has received....we LOVED it. Several of our 20-somethings nieces & nephews were talking it up a lot around the holidays, as well as many others we know (and lots here!), so we rented and watched the first season in early January, and now are done with Season 2. Guess we'll be waiting till Season 3 comes out on DVD next year, but that's ok.

Anyway....love this character from the second season and definitely deserves to be on this thread imo. Jon Snow is still hot of course, but this guy is more mysterious & intriguing - I like.

^^^ yes, I guess I forgot to use that word - but yes - sexy. Love (the actor's) mannerisms and the way he speaks. I haven't read the books so I don't know the character well, but from googling a bit, he remains somewhat mysterious in the books it seems? That is, his true identity? I'll wait & see. The other aspect of him which is quite endearing to me is his relationship to the young Arya, another favorite character of mine. Win-win!

After talking about Daniel Day Lewis (my fave male actor ever)....I totally have him on the brain. :P

One of the amazing things about him to me is the variety of characters he has portrayed from the horribly crippled Christy Brown in My Left Foot (which he won one of his 3 best actor Academy Awards for) to President Lincoln in his last few months of life. Because of some of the characters he's played, he's often made to look extremely unattractive physically, although in my opinion he's a very handsome man with a very interesting face (and he's over 6 feet tall too which is always cool in my book). Here are just a few pix from where he is the "leading man" type in a romantic sense.

I love the movie Last of the Mohicans. He is so damn pretty in that movie. :boobs:

So, the day (tomorrow) is almost here to see this super-human/uber male dance the role of Othello - Fabrice Calmels - principle dancer of Chicago's Joffrey Ballet and one of the top male dancers in the entire world right now. He is unusually tall for a dancer - 6'6" I often think he would have been the perfect model for Michelangelo, Bernini, or so many of the Greco-Roman era sculptors - I don't think there is a more beautiful & perfect (physical) example of a male human being. :beerwink:

^^^ looks like Sam to me! :P

So.....re: Mr. Calmels as Othello

...yeah - Othello was fantastic last night as I expected - just my husband & I went but I may try to fit in going again this week and take one or both of the girls. It is a full-length ballet based on Shakespeare's tragedy of the same name and is quite different than traditional ballets like a Giselle or Swan Lake - primarily because both the music & choreography are very recent and therefore have a much more "modern" feel (both excellent) - also, the acting aspect struck me as important as the dancing.

Here is the 60 second "trailer" for Othello - created when the Joffrey first performed it in 2009 http://youtu.be/ywvnhfRXwY0

This is not from Othello, but it is an unusual & quite beautiful (to me) solo performance by the 6'6" magic man. I really love the opening line on the screen: "Dance is the hidden language of the soul." Seeing this really makes me want to take up some kind of dance again - if for nothing else than the physical fitness aspect of it - but more important - simply for the personal enjoyment and feeling that kind of freedom & expression in movement.

^^^ So that guy is on the current season of GoT? I like! We don't get HBO - so will wait to watch this season when it comes out on DVD.

Had an a-ha! moment today :P - I guess my interest :beerwink: in musician personas hailing from other "worlds" goes back a loooong way. Fun! :D

Perhaps this live performance video may look somewhat "tame" 40 years later, but he was considered by many (including me & my peers for sure) to be super rad/cool/revolutionary.

Yep - I posted after/"over" (yet acknowledged) Daario with Shagrath's uber creepy mug.....muahahaha. Oh - geez - am I the only gal here who finds that look/gaze/persona.....intriguing, interesting, and really sexy?? There are certain pix that just grab me in that way - it is the unknown, piercing, chilling (in a good way), mysterious, fill-in-the-blanks appeal - what is he thinking and why?

I did not know of the Game of Thrones Daario character until posted on this thread (since I've not read the books).... seems I have a lot to look forward to in the third season. Woooo.... :D

Btw - A few of you have used the word pretty to describe some of the men here - I've never associated that word with men/males/masculinity - I guess I prefer the word beautiful because it is a good catch all (to me) for so many people (and places and things) that I really love/find very appealing.

And going back to intriguing eyes & gazes - a person's eyes are one of the very most important features to me. What is that saying.... "Eyes are the windows to the soul" or something like that? Hmmm....that could be fun - doing a collage of just eyes/eye pictures that I like. Here's one for now.... :P
    Image

One last thing - this picture that I posted on the men's thread is like a female version of the Shagrath one. I'm crazy about this one too.

    Image

So many great pictures to choose from....don't think there have been many or any stars that have had as many looks as he has!

And man oh man - was Marc Bolan one cute, sexy, and talented guy. :D
Hot Love: http://youtu.be/--EcVz-KaVU (lol re the go-go type gals in this video :P )
    Image

I've thought for a long time that I wish there would be a great biopic on Bolan and I think that the perfect singer to play him would be Ville Valo. I think Valo could totally pull it off with the right hair, make-up, costumes and such.

More sexy & romantic ballet pictures (well, they are to me anyway) ... looking forward to seeing this U.S. premiere next year. http://joffrey.org/romeo *sighs* This timeless story never gets old to me....I've seen the play a few times (most recently in March), and a few of the movie versions, but never a ballet version. I've decided on how I'm going to tempt more visitors for Noctis in September - by pimping our Calgarian eye candy. Have at it ladies ;)

Just *one* of the reasons I've loved this forum over the past 3+ years are the posts that jog my memory re this or that...a while back a forum member mentioned listening to Cat Stevens (who I hadn't listened to in a long time) and I've been on quite the Cat Stevens kick ever since. :D

Gosh - what a handsome guy he was back in the day...

    ^^^ agree!!!

Ah well - since we just saw Styx and I was marveling at how great guitarist/singer/songwriter Tommy Shaw still looks & sounds (he will be 60 in September  )...thought I'd post a few pix. No doubt he dyes his hair, but who cares - it looks great!

And a very old picture - definitely a case (in my opinion) of a guy who got better looking with age....which is fairly rare. (unlike certain other rockers who sadly have not aged well looks-wise like Robert Plant who is not much older than Shaw)
