Who would you like to REUNITE for this event ?

    by KevinP » Mon Mar 22, 2010 1:58 pm

Even thought it has been done already, I never was able to see:

    At the Gates
    Carcass

Would also would love to see:

    Coroner
    Gorefest
Pungent Stench (though I think the Martin & Alex are not on talking terms, hence why the last album was never released)
Ripping Corpse (been talked about for years and years)

Early - Scorpions, Blue Cheer, Budgie (mids 70's lineups for all 3), Saint Vitus, Corrosion of Conformity, Death Sentence, Goatsnake, more (can I bring back the dead?).
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

Well I actually liked ATG before it became trendy and they spawned a legion of horrible imitators. To this day my wife remembers me talking about their first album "The Red is te Sky is Ours" and waiting for its release. Had to drive 45 minutes to the only record store that carried imports to pick it up. :deathmetal:

Admittedly the Carcass setlist on the reunion tour was god awful. I'm one of those who can't stand anything released AFTER Necrotism/Tools of the Trade, but haven't seen them in ages so I wouldn't mind.

I thought Carcass sucked a couple of years ago when they reunited. Nothing like the Gods of Grind tour in '91-92

At The gates I saw in '95 on the Slaughter of the Soul tour, when they were openers for Napalm Death, they killed it and even played "Captor of Sin" (Slayer cover for those who pose)

Oops, shows ya what I know. Just browsing knac.com in search of miscellaneous news and in an article about RJD's health it mentioned that Craig Goldy is about to do some writing with Dio since he has some time after having been playing with Budgie on various recent tour dates. I guess the name's being carried on by an original member or two.

Well basically most their fans got fucked over about it.
What happeend was 4 months after Wacken had sold out last year Runningwild or should i say Rolf announced that they would be playing one last gig at Wacken and then disbanding.Apparently some of the band members were as shocked as i was when i found out because i don't think he told them straight away that this was gonna happen.
Anyway Wacken was sold out for months so most Running Wild fans couldn't get a ticket to see them especially with such a short announcement of it.
You think they would have atleast done a tour or something before going out.

I saw that show. It was fucking bad to say at best.

I was never a fan, but kind of liked them 20 years ago, so I was looking forward to seeing them one last time. I couldn't watch it. It was too fucking bad. I had to go to the bar! :trashdrink:

Here's one that would rule, but won't happen. DARK ANGEL :headbanger:

As for why it couldn't happen, well, here are a few examples:

Don Dotty wouldn't be involved because he quit doing music when he quit the band AND he became a serious religious fanatic. So that's a no.

Jim Durkin wouldn't be involved since he and Erik Meyer seem to hate each others guts

And the biggest reason of all, is Ron Rinehart. Now this guy would love nothing better then get on that stage and melt our faces, but unfortunately he can't. It seems that during Dark Angel's short lived reunion a few years ago, He was carrying a refrigerator or something, up several flights of stairs and fell, literally breaking his neck. Now, he's not in a wheelchair mind you, as he got lucky and seemingly recovered from the injury. However, at some point he was practicing with the band and belting it out when he felt something snap in his neck and suffered some ill effects. Fortunately, it was short lived and minor, but his doctor told him he couldn't sing anymore for risk of paralyzing himself. And there you have it, in a nutshell.

If Ron's neck ever heals enough that he can do it again, then you better believe we'll be seeing these guys play once more...but I'm not holding my breath

An uplifting tale to be sure

One of the best bands EVER. And the nicest guys ever. I met them in Seattle when they opened for Master in like 95 and flew out to Colorado Springs, Co and saw them play two nights at the Pure Energy club. Great group and very generous dudes. Dax is a wonderful storyteller and Audie was pretty much the coolest dude in the band. I shared some of my wealth I had brought from Seattle and they asked me what song I wanted them to play and I said 'Cassie Eats Cockroaches" and they were flipping out that i wanted to hear that one and that they had not played it live in years. They played it and gave me a shout out before hand. I video taped the show with my camcorder. But of course I lost it somewhere. (the footage). Glad I have the Acid Bath- dvd!

Now this reunion I would be interested in. Not sure if Jimmy every got his life together. He had some serious issues that he had to deal with.

Yeah I would have loved to have seen them live., you lucky bastard. I do have the dvd though.

Yeah Sammy was the reason I went to Colorado because my friend was dating him and wanted me to tag along and I am glad I did because Audie Petrie was killed 3 months after the show in Colorado Springs.

I have both albums with the different covers (so I have a set of the original covers and a set of the limited covers they sold at shows) And then I have a poster too that Spike sent me from Rotten/DRI years ago.

Haha speaking of Rage against the Machine they are playing a gig in Dublin this year.
Only charging 65 euro a ticket too
They ran some campaign against this pop idol show called Xfactor in the UK,They managed to find enough gullable fools to buy the 'killing in the name' single before xmas so they would get number 1 and not the xfactor person because apparently the xfactor winner tops the xmas charts every year.
To me it was more of a scam to bascially resurect 'Rage Against the Machines career.
Anyway i depise the band.Hope i never have to see them play.
All rap metal should be banned and the people who create it should be locked up for life

Nuclear Assault would be nice (though their comeback album was a stinker). I don't remember if I've ever seen them live or not. Too many shows in such a short time span those days that it was a blur. I do remember seeing Lilker all the time (hence my confusion), since every fest or show had Brutal Truth playing

I hear ya brother,if I hadn't saved most of my ticket stubs I'd have forgotten about many shows over the years.and the copious amounts of weed and beer consumed over that time doesn't help any:) :beerhorns:

I was told they were on break, but that has been for quite some time that it really just seemed more of an indefinite break up.
Seeing as Almah took off so well, it has put Angra under the rug.
Bittencourt focused on his solo stuff, and so did Loureiro.

In any case, I hear they're bringing it back. Hopefully.

I think they played a tour with Sepultura in Brazil last year.

Was wondering why that Switzerland gig last year got cancelled.I was gonna see them on the tour with Vision Divine in October and the week before i was heading over the show got cancelled.
They didn't even tell Vision Divine the tour was cancelled. The only way they found out was the same as me.they saw it cancelled on the venue site.
Was a very unprofessional thing of them to do
