Genres you want to see represented

    by longhairedaaron » Sun Feb 28, 2010 12:01 am

Please!!!! Get these genres and make your attendees happy!

    GOTH ROCK/METAL

Examples: 69 Eyes, Entwine, Him, Dommin

    SWEDISH DEATH METAL

Examples: In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Arch Enemy, Nightrage

    BLACK METAL

Examples: Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, Vreid

Personall I'm hoping for 69 Eyes, Dimmu and In Flames. Then again, I can probably keep dreaming ;)

I'd be totally happy if the remaining 29 bands were all power metal
Honestly, at this point, the only band I'm really hoping gets on this ship is Kamelot.

    EDIT:
Turisas is my second favorite band (after Sonata Arctica) and would be a huge outside shot (I think they'll be recording a new album at this time). I've seen them a few times already and they put on the best live show every time out. My friend and I will get painted up this whole cruise if Turisas gets on the boat.

    Dude!!! Go to progpowerusa.com

I think this year will be the 4th time they have played that festival! At least the 3rd time and I have seen them many, many times! Kamelot rules, but they are like "house" band status to me at ths point ;)

    more power metal: Blind Guardian
more prog: Dreamtheater, Opeth, Symphony X, Cynic
    more death metal: Obscura

black metal, melodic death metal, technical metal, progressive metal, and whatever Diablo Swing Orchestra is.
I really like how the lineup is taking shape.

cmon 70000 tons, book Blind Guardian and Iced Earth, and you get demons and wizards for free.

and bring some crazy Canadians. Unexpect and Augury

well, I haven;t bought a ticket yet but am seriously considering after some more bands are announced.

I think some quality Death Metal, Black Metal, and Folk Metal bands are definitely needed and would do nicely.

    suggestions:

    Death Metal:
Morbid Angel, Nile, Septic Flesh, Vader, Behemoth, Hypocrisy, Obituary, Amorphis, Napalm Death, Dark Tranquillity, Opeth, Cynic, etc

    Black Metal
Immortal, Vried, Absu, Wolves In The Throne Room, Mayhem, Watain, Mayhem, Marduk, Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon, etc.

    Folk Metal:
Korpiklaani, Eluveitie, Turisas, Moonsorrow, Blackguard, Alestorm, Tyr, Kivimetsan Druidi, etc.

    also,

    Sludge/Southern Metal:
Crowbar, Corrosion Of conformity, Withered, Zoroaster, Kylesa, Clutch, Torch, etc.

    Thrash Metal:
    Evile, Skeletonwitch, Kreator, etc.

    Power Metal:
Nevermore, Rhapsody, Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, etc.

some of these bands have rapid followers, but would also like to throw in Devin Townsend, Mastodon, In Flames, Children Of Bodom, Immortal, etc. any bands like that would be a huge draw I think.

Kalmah would be pretty nice, though they're not the best live band out there.

Another band I'd love to have on the cruise would be Bal-Sagoth (plus, that'd keep Dragonforce away  ) but they are fuckin' atrocious live. I think they'd bring a hell of a party though and may be needed just for that.

All the bands playing, I'm pretty certain, have been confirmed and while I'd be excited if the cruise listened to our comments, I think it may just be all wishful thinking at this point. Let the speculation continue!

Personally i prefer it to stay more heavy and power metal orientated.
Would be cool to have some American bands like Kamelot,Symphony x and Iced Earth for us Europeans. They are big bands in europe but don't play too much outside of America.

I'm just gonna list a few bands i think would be awesome on this cruise.

    W.A.S.P ,Blind Guardian,Accept,Heaven and Hell,Judas priest,Ancient Rites,Bal Sagoth,BULLET,Edguy,Grave Digger,Haggard,Cage,Rebellion,
    Thyrfing,Kreator,Moonsorrow.

But most of all it would be a fucking dream come true if you guys could get King Diamond to play on this boat. :P

According to what I was told upon booking, the lineup for the cruise has pretty much been set. The reason they're throwing out one or two at a time is because of all the paper work and red tape still being dealt with. Some of the bands they've selected may end up dropping out later on, so I suppose it doesn't hurt to make suggestions. And yes, the headliners have already been selected (so I was told), so they might save those names for the end.

Forbidden stated that they were confirmed, but I was told that the deal with them hasn't been finalized yet, so they jumped the gun a bit. Hopefully it'll turn out to be true.

Personally, I would be thrilled to get any of the following:

    Testament
    Overkill
    Annihilator
    Brainstorm
    Nevermore
    Powermad
    Heathen
    Primal Fear
    The Crown
    Thrash Or Die
    Destruction
    Martyr
    Quo Vadis
    Bloodbath
    Vader
    Sadist
    Anata
    Morbid Angel
    Unleashed
    Kalmah
    Ensiferum
    Insomnium
    Eluveitie
    Saq
    Tankard
    Artillery
    Evile
    Helloween
    Gamma Ray
    Bloodbound
    Masterplan
    Demons and Wizards
    Mystic Prophecy
    Metalium
    Biomechanical
    Zimmer's Hole
    Dream Evil
    Savage Circus
    Stormwarrior
    Alestorm

    And that's just for starters

Yes, I too would love too see Death, but we all know that's not gonna happen. Same goes for Gorefest, who split up again last year (for the final time I'm sure)

Frankly, I'm a little surprised by some of the distinctly UN-Metal suggestions I've seen in this thread thus far
    Vader-Dream Evil-Accept-Thrash Or Die-Evile-Brainstorm-Kalmah-Paradox-The Crown-Morgana Lefay-Gama Bomb-Hail Of Bullets-Powermad-Firewind-Hypocrisy-Iron Savior-Communic.....FOR 2015!

Now, cristisism is welcome here: What about Kittie? I'm not sure how many of you have heard of them. They are from Canada... all chicks. They are not my favorite or anything but I think it could be a cool addition to add to the variation of metal they have going on.

Yes well i'm actually more of a huge Warlock fan.Been lucky enough to see them twice. Some of her solo stuff itsn't bad but she has a few questionable songs in her solo career and the good thing about when she performs is half the set is usually Warlock classics and a cover of Breaking the Law.Seen her solo concerts twice too :D
