Last minute hello before my husband (hypercube33) and I experience BTH... My name is Kari. :boobs:

    City/Country:
    Eau Claire, WI

    Age (optional):
    27

What first got you into metal?
I guess when I was 12 or 13 a friend of mine introduced me to Ozzy and Sabbath and it grew from there.

    Play any instruments?
    Nope.

    Top 5 bands?
    Mercenary
    Dark Tranquillity
    Soilwork
    Sirenia
    Scar Symmetry

    What do you do?
At this point I am working as a front desk clerk at a hotel, but I have a degree in Paralegal Studies and would like to someday do that for a living if the local job market improves.

    What deck are you on?
    N- BTH

What's a creepy thing I can say when I see you that no stranger should know and will weird you out that I do?
I am a huge fan of show tunes and musicals... I was in show choir in high school in fact.

So i went here to post stuff, but what about cool people i want to lurk that we saw on the boat but couldnt get their names. Feels stupid being nubs on the boat. Planning to go to 70k 2014 since for 2013 we already like 7 of the announced bands quite a bit, but I cant afford another cruise and flight and hotels in 6 weeks after barge!

Should've posted earlier. I'm from Winnipeg (weird that we never met...or have we?) and posted here on the forum to find another two cabinmates after my compatriots from the first two years couldn't make it.

I keep contemplating booking last minute by myself, but I'm not exactly the most outgoing person and I'm kind of scared that if I book, I'd just end up spending the entire cruise watching shows by myself. I also am still paying for the last cruise a bit.. I'm sure that if I wasn't broke, I would have been brave charged it long ago. I've told myself that if I can't find anyone to book with for the next cruise, I am for sure going solo.

Has anyone here booked a single ticket and traveled to Miami by themselves? If so, how was that?

I didn't book a single ticket, I had talked to a couple of my cabin mates for several months prior to the cruise, but I did travel to Miami by myself and didn't have any problems. Most people were friendly, I had a great time there. I'm not very outgoing either so I spent most of the time on the boat alone and went to all the shows by myself, had a blast though. Won't be going next month but will probably be going in 2014. Probably won't be organising my cabin before bookings start though, will most likely either book a single ticket or use the find a cabinmate section of the forum.

Both times I traveled alone. First time I booked with a friend I met here but barely knew. Second time I booked with 2 ppl I met on the first cruise and 1 of their friends from the same in a quad. As a result of frequenting these forums and socializing with the regulars here, I felt like I knew hundreds of people and never lacked for anyone to hang out with even though I'm a very introverted, often anti-social, reclusive sort of person by nature.

Welcome! I booked a single ticket and plan on traveling by myself, but since this will be my first cruise I don't think that's much help to you. As for not being very outgoing, you introduced yourself on the fourm and you did go on the 2012 cruise, so that says something.

I'm not the most outgoing either, but the cruise made me be more social than ever.
I traveled solo this year (first international travel in my life) and it was awesome, I thought I would be alone only going to shows and eating by myself but got lots of friends which I'm seeing again next year :D

I booked by myself and found a stranger to room with the first year. I only found out about 70K around Halloween time. Couldn't get anyone I knew to go with me. I posted in the 'recruit a cabin mate' section looking for a partner in crime. Found someone in less than a day. Both of us booked. Paid. Met in Miami for the first time 2 days before the cruise.

Now we are great friends and I have a zillion more I met on here and Facebook.

My advice to you is: go on as many of these cruises as you can, no matter who you book with. Do it while the cruises are still awesome, while you are still young, and while you can still afford it.

That's my plan and I'm sticking to it. :headbanger:

Yeah, there needs to be some sort of 12 step program for 70K.
