What first got you into metal?
When I was 12 I had a sleeping room in the attic, and so did one of my brothers, who was 15 at the time. He started listening to deep purple, motorhead, accept and more, and sort of grew into rock, and I grew with him, so to speak. My taste in music is not limited to metal, I love a lot of different kinds of music, but rock/metal does top the list.
Play any instruments?
I used to play bugle in a brass band...

This varies a bit, like I said I love different kinds of music, but I'll give it a shot:

Go to shows, travel (usually involves sunshine and/or music—with this cruise I get both, just like Ozzfest in CA in August), movies, wine, gourmet cooking, spending time with the kids & the doggy.

Hi metalgoddess! "spending time with the kids" caught my eye. Except for my local metal show adventures a few times a month and once-a-year-trips out of the country on my own - spending time with my 11 and 13 year old girls during my non-work hours is definitely the most significant part of my life now. It's not quite the perfect analogy, but I often feel a bit Bruce Wayne/Batman the night of a show. I especially remember the night I went to the Finntroll/Swallow the Sun/Moonsorrow show last spring. I made dinner for husband (not into metal but tolerates my metal predilection ) and the kids, took one of the kids to a sleepover birthday party, did some laundry, then presto-chango into club clothes and voilà - out the door and to the show
