    City/country:
Missoula, Montana. (Probably the only one besides my cabin mate)

    Age (optional):
    25

What first got you into metal?
When I was a kid my brothers were into stuff like Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne and shit like that. When the whole "grunge" thing happened the brothers gave me all there old records. This started me on the track to becoming a metal head, I just went in a heavier direction when I started discovering bands myself. Now I like a bunch of metal, mostly Black, Death, Power, and Thrash Metal.

    Play any instruments?
No, tried bass for a while, I got the talent to play punk rock but who the fuck wants to do that, so I quit.

Top 5 bands? ( This one was hard to limit myself to 5)
    Slayer
    3 Inches of Blood
    Borknagar
    Judas Priest
    Manowar

    What do you do?
I'm an Anthropology student at The University of Montana in my junior year.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Listen to records and read mostly. Some video games, and too much wasted time on the internet.

    What deck are you on?
    3 I think
"May your sword stay wet like a young girl in her prime. Hold your hammers high!"

I have been kindly invited to introduce myself, so here goes:

    City/country:
    Oss, the Netherlands

    Age (optional):
    44

What first got you into metal?
When I was 12 I had a sleeping room in the attic, and so did one of my brothers, who was 15 at the time. He started listening to deep purple, motorhead, accept and more, and sort of grew into rock, and I grew with him, so to speak. My taste in music is not limited to metal, I love a lot of different kinds of music, but rock/metal does top the list.

    Play any instruments?
I used to play bugle in a brass band...

    Top 5 bands?
This varies a bit, like I said I love different kinds of music, but I'll give it a shot:

    Symphony X
    Queensryche
    Iron Maiden
    Iced Earth
    Amon Amarth
    and many many more

    What do you do?
I am a logistic specialist, working for Sony in Tilburg

    What deck are you on?
    10

What's a creepy thing I can say when I see you that no stranger should know and will weird you out that I do?
Haven't got a clue, I am an outgoing person, so you may ask me anything and will most likely get a truthfull answer (depends also a bit on how drunk I am haha)

    that's it guys...

Everett, WA USA (20 miles north of Seattle)

    Age (optional):
    47

What first got you into metal?
I grew up in Wyoming and hated country music. Stayed up late to hear the AM rock radio out of Denver. Heard Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, KISS, Aerosmith, and that was it, I was hooked. The harder and more offensive, the better! I love thrash & hair metal!!!

    Play any instruments?
My primary instrument is bass guitar (since no one else in my circle at the time would pick one up!), but also play keyboards & guitar. Played flute and clarinet in school band. Hubby plays drums (he’s coming with me).

    Favorite bands?
    Judas Priest
    Slayer
    Megadeth
    Iron Maiden
    Pantera
    Motley Crue
    White Zombie

    What do you do?
I’m a Safety Manager for a very large aerospace company and a mom.

What do you do in your spare time?
Go to shows, travel (usually involves sunshine and/or music—with this cruise I get both, just like Ozzfest in CA in August), movies, wine, gourmet cooking, spending time with the kids & the doggy.

    What deck are you on?
    5

Yeuj, branche colleague! We can talk shop together
I booked about a month ago. We wanted the junior suite, but by the time we made sure we would get the vacation time from work, those were sold out, so we upgraded... booked a grand suite :D (what do you mean, gotta love luxury???) ;)
Need the balcony anyway, because we are both smokers. Haven't booked a flight yet, wrote an e-mail to Metal Travel (the acclaimed travelpartner of 70k) last saturday, but no answer yet. Those guys need to hurry up, otherwise I will go to a travel agency here in Oss...

Edit: by the way, I made it to Oiler! no more sweeping the deck for me hooray :headbanger:

Hi metalgoddess! "spending time with the kids" caught my eye. ;) Except for my local metal show adventures a few times a month and once-a-year-trips out of the country on my own - spending time with my 11 and 13 year old girls during my non-work hours is definitely the most significant part of my life now. It's not quite the perfect analogy, but I often feel a bit Bruce Wayne/Batman the night of a show. I especially remember the night I went to the Finntroll/Swallow the Sun/Moonsorrow show last spring. I made dinner for husband (not into metal but tolerates my metal predilection  ;) ) and the kids, took one of the kids to a sleepover birthday party, did some laundry, then presto-chango into club clothes and voilà - out the door and to the show :P :headbanger:

Hi metalgoddess! "spending time with the kids" caught my eye. ;) Except for my local metal show adventures a few times a month and once-a-year-trips out of the country on my own - spending time with my 11 and 13 year old girls during my non-work hours is definitely the most significant part of my life now. It's not quite the perfect analogy, but I often feel a bit Bruce Wayne/Batman the night of a show. I especially remember the night I went to the Finntroll/Swallow the Sun/Moonsorrow show last spring. I still havent gotten to fully introducing myself on this forum. I do intend to in the near future.

I feel very Bruce Wayne/Batman at times as well :D Im mom to a 3 and 11 yr old. My days (when Im not at work which=being pretty non-metal as well) are spent at soccer games, violin practice, pto meetings and dr. appointments. By night Im show going metal chick. The husband is into to metal though, he will be on the boat with me. Its good to know theres other metal mommas out there! :shred: :viking: :headbanger:

More metal mommas - yeah! :shred: Glad you could relate to the Bruce Wayne/Batman concept! Lol - my life is pretty non-metal most the time too. When not at work, there are the pto meetings, karate classes (kids are brown belts and currently training for their black belts), doctor/dentist/ortho appointments (2 kids in braces at once - argh! ), and our many adventures and activities we do in and around Chicago. Nice your husband is going on the cruise as well. On this thread viewtopic.php?f=4&t=517 I mentioned that neither my husband nor my kids like metal music (although we share many other musical tastes), so for the most part I'm a closet metalhead at home.

I want to go on record as saying that the people in that video in no way represent the vast majority of the gaming hobbyists out there. Whenever I hear about something like this or, worse yet when I actually see it, I cringe because it makes all of us normal gamers look like idiots.

And what kind of moron throws multiple Lightning Bolt spells at less than 15 feet away! The bolt backlashes if it doesn't extend its full distance and will fry the caster! :ugeek:

What first got you into metal?
I liked KISS when I was a wee lad because they looked like superheroes. I got a bit older and my neighbor started making mix tapes for me with all sorts of heavier music on it that spoke to me in a way that my sister's Air Supply records did not.

    Play any instruments?
I'm kind of a whore for hire, playing guitar and bass in cover gigs for any band with $50 to give me. I also play guitar in an Alice Cooper Tribute band, and in my original band called Buttafuko. I play bass in the Seattle band The Braindead. On top of all that crap, I'm a crappy singer, crappy keyboard player, and crappy drummer.

    Top 5 bands?
    Zappa.

    What do you do?
I am an electronics technician for LOUD technologies, which means I tear into and repair stuff made by Mackie, Crate, Ampeg, EAW, and other fun stuff like that.

What's a creepy thing I can say when I see you that no stranger should know and will weird you out that I do?
"It's not funny when you fart into the microphone. It's only funny when Devin Townsend farts into the microphone."
That wouldn't weird me out, but it might be true.
