Yeah, I was there. We proclaimed that it was to be the "least metal thing he was allowed to do all week" but I'm sure he lowered the bar even more when my back was turned.

Meredith and I were witness to this as well. He "redeemed" himself later by wearing a button up shirt and carrying a bottle of wine around with him. :headbanger:

I'm thinking of doling them out on a "per righteous band" basis. Ladies only, obv obv obv. I should do up a chart, certain number of awesome bands on your playlist can be exchanged for various types of sexual harassment from myself. This cruise is turning me into a proper lecherous pig. Love it.

    Bands for 2012

    by weaz4200 » Tue Apr 19, 2011 8:47 pm

My girls dragging me along this upcoming cruise. Whoever picks the talent should try to get for bands like Machine Head, Lamb of God, Chimaira, Threat Signal, etc. Not that there's anything wrong with the bands on the last cruise, but I don't think it was diverse enough. If it's called 70,000 Tons of Metal, well, then let's mix that sh*t up a little more.

Guys, I'm just sayin', my hair would have been one gigantic afro with all the humidity and wind, it would have sucked for me and everyone around me (and afros are about the least metal hairstyle ever).
I apologise for the lapse in metal-ness... it won't happen again. (Next time I'm getting it in Miami... haha. I brought my luggage as a carry-on last year and plan on doing it again next year.. damn you liquid laws!)
Oh, and Jeff: the bar was only lowered when you were too distracted by some brutal death metal, eating raw meat and lifting large triagular iron weights (with large numbers written on them) to watch over me, and I donned the uniform us power metal weenies are given once we sign off our testicles (Pink tutu, curly-toed shoes, and a once-aforementioned sparkly purple sequined shirt featuring a unicorn with a sizeable erection) and did some ballet moves. Sorry Jeff. I've let you down. Only metal behaviour from now on :D

I propose a gentlemans evening on the next cruise. Everyone wears a sport jacket and a button up, waxes their facial hair into curly shapes, drinks only wine, brandy, or scotch (from the bottle, of course), and indulges in some fine pipe tobacco, while uttering phrases such as 'quite,' 'indubitably,' and 'have you tried the grey poupon?' at random intervals.

    Indeed.

Oh yeah, and Jaimie: I got the bottles of wine up in the Viking lounge! You just go up there and ask them for one, and then when they offer you a glass you bat it out of their hand and say "FUCK NO I'M NOT USING A WINE GLASS AT A METAL SHOW", then you sign the bill (about $25), and get back downstairs!

The only thing to complete that would be the transformation of one stateroom into a true gentleman's quarters.

    High backed leather chairs.
    A roaring fireplace.
    Bearskin Rug.
    Bloodhounds dozing.
    Slippers, donned.
Classical music emanating from some unseen gramophone.
Rennaisance style portraits on the walls.
An extensive literary library, residing in tall cabinets of fine oak.

And of course, heavy boozing and constant metal.
    But that's a given!

No repeats from last year so, FIXED for you

I'd enjoy 1 or 2 of those bands a little too
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

It's been stated, confirmed and explained a number of times in other threads. Apparently metal fests just don't invite bands to play back to back years. Would be highly unusual for the 70K folks to do so.

Accept (Who were quite exceptional when I saw them last week)

Hell (reunited NWOBHM band that's kicking all sorts of ass)

Crimson Glory (Their new singer is quite able in filling those big shoes left by Midnight)

Also, can some of you people stop naming bands that just played on THIS years cruise? It's not gonna happen. No Metal festival does consecutive repeats. For the 2013 cruise, maybe, but even then I kinda doubt it.

Well that is not really true Graspop Metal Meeting have booked the same bands 2 years in a row...Not many but a few.......just to be a little irritating :beerhorns:

OMG Carrie - they are great and especially live... if you're likin' bands like Ensiferum and Finntroll - I think you'll def. like Turisas!
Btw - how was Amon Amarth last night? :viking:
