I would hope the bands would include full show dvds of 70000tons in expanded edition cds on their next cd release.
I would think any dvd from the promoters would be only a song or two at most from each band plus blooper reels and random video, photos and whatnot . To put out a full set of each band wouldn't be cost effective as it would have to be a huge dvd set for everything.
    just my 2 cents

    Update:

My girlfriend wrote to the ZDF and already got a response:

That's 28:45 of professionally filmed footage of the cruise. More than I had hoped for. :beerwink:

With all the cameras and such (and candid professional photos taken) I was never stopped once or even noticed them at all. Guess I was just out of my mind (in a sober way) to care.

I'm not camera shy, but when they stick a mic in your face and expect you to come up with material on the spot, it's kinda tough.

I never buy band or concert DVD's, but this is a immediate purchase for me :deathmetal:

We've discussed it on a couple of threads throughout the life of this forum. My searching hasn't found any confirmation of a DVD yet, but we do know that the event was professionally filmed (according to our Skipper).

it would be awesome to get like a 3 dvd set ... 2 of bands/music and 1 of bloopers ... behind the scenes ... band interviews, and the fans in all their glory.
I also hope bands will add a full set dvd to up coming cds as a bonus disc. but that's just me wishing  :givebeer:

Well considering the number of cameras present at every performance, as well as around the ship in general, I'd say it's a forgone conclusion.

All in due time. At this point I'm just waiting to see what the first salvo of information concerning the next cruise might be.

When looking at those framed photos you could buy, I asked the guy behind the counter about a DVD.
He said "There is no DVD". But that may have meant none to buy on broad.
It would take some time to put it together, I just assumed you could sign up for one at the photo desk.
I did read in one of those flyers they put in your cabin that a DVD would be available for $29.95.

Other than the Metal Injection crew, was there even any other semi-professional crews on board? I didn't see any. I'd say that unless Metal Injection has enough footage for a full DVD, there probably isn't going to be one.

I think they'd be crazy NOT to put one out as far as money-making opportunities go. I thought there was a question in the FAQ about it but I don't see it there now, but yeah, I saw the filming dudes all over the place, unless they were metal injection, but I don't think so

Well, I'm sure there's more to the filming than just Metal Injection. Andy DID say many moons ago that "...the event is being professionally filmed"

Hey Andy, how about an elaboration?

I know you've always held your cards pretty close to the chest when it comes to sharing info with us but can we have a yes or no as to whether a DVD product will be available for us to purchase some time in the future? An update about t-shirts/merchandise would go a log way to pleasing many of your customers as well I'm sure.

    Thnx in advance

Just keep your eyes on the website for updates and we hope to see you next year.

Who did the filming? There were several TV-Stations and the Metal Injection Guys - but who else? There were many Concerts without any Camera, so i expect a more People-orientated Shorttime Movie. For a Concert you need more than one HD-Cam.....

A Shirt in XXXL would be nice.....

    .

Maybe they only plan to use footage of 1 song per band, so there was no need to film every band on every set ? Just a thought.

Just glad to hear they are working on one. In the future hope they allow you to pre order the DVD before the event, this way they get an idea of how many people want one and the turn around time will be quicker.

I would think any dvd from the promoters would be only a song or two at most from each band plus blooper reels and random video, photos and whatnot . To put out a full set of each band wouldn't be cost effective as it would have to be a huge dvd set for everything.
    just my 2 cents

we were talking about the strong commercial potencial of a DVD with guys from Doro last cruise..

my vision from the first day I was on my first 70K cruise was to have some shots from a helicopter that would be totally awesome.. imagine a zoom to some guy playin guitar and then the zoom-out seeing all the pool deck and then zoom-out all the cruise and the sea.

I know a helicopter may be expensive but perhaps It may shot just a couple of hours or just some shows to support the shots from regular cameras onbroad and edit the DVD, I think is not impossible as any people can take a helicopter tour for about 20 or 30 minutes on ny, grand canyon and other touristic places for about 200 American dlls
