Sword also has a best of album ... but that really doesn't count unless you can't find the 2 original releases

I seen the wiki already ........ not always the most reliable source: that's why I asked about Hell ...... and demos are extremely hard to get a hold of if you don't know anyone who already has them  :givebeer:

So I finally checked out all the bands that I didn't know previously on the 2012 Cruise. I have not cared for Stratovarius in the past, they have a new "majestic" album. LOL Therion and Tristania are definitely out of the realm of what I normally listen to. Weird.

However, I'm a live show girl. These bands may very well impress me live, like some of the other bands I got to see the first cruise! That is the beauty of this Metal Cruise, to see and hear what I would not normally!

Seconded. I've gotten into some bands by seeing them live. I didn't appreciate a few bands after hearing recorded albums, but seeing them live blew me out of the water.

Amorphis is also a great addition, my preference is their earlier stuff but a talented band all around. Motorhead need to be a part of this, that would put it over the top for me.

FTW sword? I think theyre playing KIT next year in germany along with OZ (which i did suggest already >:D) also, Hell reunited and sound BAD ASS :beerwink:

Saw Hell play at Metalfest 2 weeks ago. They were pretty terrible.Vocals especially were all over the place.

"Metalwrath" I agree with you about "Hell", but being honest the singer of "Fear Factory" sucks live, when he screams is amazing ... but when you try (as he tries) is horrible LOL! :death: :death: :death:

that sucks to hear :/ i was looking forward to seeing them. Wasn't Martin from Sabbat singing for them for a while?? I think if the singer they currently have sucks, and every one agrees they should probably try out Martin for a few shows.

I saw Dimmu and Ensalved in Oct/11. Although Enslaved 'opened' they were much better musically. Although Dimmu was good... just not great like Enslaved

Re: Dimmu Borgir :beerhorns: ...Here's a cut and paste of something I posted recently on the Black Metal thread in response to a post by The Mooyagicorn! (and I agree, btw, that Enslaved is outstanding!)

You are not the first person who I've heard say they thought Dimmu was a lacking or boring live band. I've heard people say this about Opeth and Porcupine Tree too - a few of the other bands in my all time top 6. Maybe I just love the music so much...know every note, etc., I'm just biased and these bands can do no wrong!  I guess as dynamic and kinda out there Dimmu's videos are, one might expect a more over the top stage show (like Rammstein who we both just saw)... come to think of it, Shagrath didn't even move around a whole lot on stage when I've seen them - I mean he's no maniaical performer like a Robb Flynn (who I think is amazing btw) - but to me it doesn't matter and is somewhat irrelevant. In my view (and hehe - you know this from the ladies thread :P ), Shagrath has a larger than life presence and otherworldly magnetism that is unmatched :P ! The man could sit on a folding chair on the stage for all I care. And as I've said on the ladies thread recently, the fact that Shagrath is so  hot  ;) is just a bonus for me - the music always come first - he just makes DB even more of a "win-win" - ha - makes me think of one of my other top 6 bands - Rush - Geddy Lee is no Shagrath on the hot scale - but he is without doubt one of the true ROCK GODS and I've always been pretty effin nuts about him too (albeit in a different way) ;) :P
Image Geddy and Shagrath (2 "extreme" vocalists ;) )

haha yeah a guy recommended them to me in Seattle. He was like "their drummer is IN...

    ...

    ...
    ...
    ......

    ...

    CREDIBLE!"

He's actually like number 3 on the best drummers list. Music is too depressing for me though, it's cool progressive rock nonetheless.

At this stage I'm hoping for a group of bands (3 - 5) to be announced to keep everyone happy. A big one would be good to give sales a little push.

Thinks seem to have slowed down quite a bit I'm fairly sure there are a lot of people waiting on a solid announcement before they book.

FYI you will NOT be seeing Coroner playing in the "day light". Apparently that was one of their requirements with signing on.

Hopefully we'll get a nighttime pool deck show at least

FTW sword? I think theyre playing KIT next year in germany along with OZ (which i did suggest already >:D) also, Hell reunited and sound BAD ASS :beerwink:

Saw Hell play at Metalfest 2 weeks ago. They were pretty terrible.Vocals especially were all over the place.
to quote what my friend said 'The singer is like one of those guys who says 'well my mom says i'm a great singer' '

"Metalwrath" I agree with you about "Hell", but being honest the singer of "Fear Factory" sucks live, when he screams is amazing ... but when you try (as he tries) is horrible LOL! :death: :death: :death:

I have seen FF 15 times and sometimes his clean vocals are perfect. You have probably only seen them once or twice and had bad luck. He only sounded off , 5 of the 15 times.... the reason being is that his screaming is using the same parts of his throat as his singing... just his style which makes it very difficult to still sing perfect, but alas,.... 10 times I have seen him still sing perfect live.
My favorite FF show being when they or (he) closed singing Timelessness, after screaming for over an hour, and he was dead-on PERFECTly in tune.

Interesting.... they aren't that 'dark' of a band or anything although they are good.

Luckily last year, Moonspell and Dark Tranquillity both did not play in the light either... most bands don't have to actually since the sun isn't up forever in January even in the Caribbean. But those are 2 bands that would not make much sense to see in the light. There are really only 2 'days' that bands play... maybe 2 band each on Monday and Wednesday before it gets dark... so really almost 30 or so out of the 40 bands probably don't play in the light at all anyways... dusk or dark or inside mostly. Not a tough requirement.

I'm not a big fan, but do appreciate some of their stuff... and they have been very influential to the goth metal genre

So weird to be in the midst of reading a thread and it's title changes as you go from one page to the next. Totally caught me off guard

Not a band I'd have wished for or have ever really been moved by but it's better than what we've had in the past few weeks ;)
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me
