Hey Laura, tyvm for the complement! As you are more than aware the amount of music out there is insane. It is hard to check it out and give it equal listening exposure. I try my best to absorb a band and their albums when I really dig a band before going to the next recommendation. Samael are a oldie for me as I got into them when I was a weee teen back in 94 with CoO so have been following them awhile. That album had a heavy impact at the time cause it was well produced "black" metal with a groove (purist would debate its black metal merits, yadda yadda). They are a interesting band so much so that I always keep an eye on em to reproduce that "magic" they had on CoO. Their new stuff is good and well thought out just lots of layers / electronic parts that don't add anything for me.
IF you want a really cool EP from them before they switch over to drum machines and has some cool covers and remakes of classics is the EP "Rebellion" The namesake itself is crushing.

The Alice Cooper cover of "I Love the Dead" is awesome too.

Century Media now sell CoO/Rebellion CD insane cheap.
As for Paradise Lost I'd have to start a new threat as to jacking the OPs thread on that
DT is a awesome album and one that was with me in 95 through thick and thin but they did some really cool stuff after. One Second was next and Sister of Mercy influenced, then "host" which all the metal head purist whined about as it was Depeche Mode-ish but still awesome song writing. One I think you'd like since you dig Rammstein is Symbol of Life. That renewed my faith in that band and has a Stein vibe to it. Scope some samples and see if you'd agree:
