For all you Facebook users, the event page can found here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=285244511500809

And here is a sampling of each of the bands playing:

    Thrash Or Die: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBSODmImPpM

    Saq: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wi2HolTTEdI

    Mendacity: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZhgsYlGWeA

Thanks for the info! I'm a newb, so just to be sure, this is the successor to the event where everyone met up before the cruise last year?
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

    Deadly Bizarre: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bID7Ssbu-D0

    Cyst: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IW_xNNu2XQ

    Masticator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=W4WrVa9JoI4#!

And ending off the night will be the Metal Thrashing Madmen, a collection of various musicians paying tribute to a number of Thrash Metal classics :shred:

Also, for any of you wine connoisseurs, there's a wine bar under the same ownership right next door, which will also be open for the Pre Party :chug:. Check out their website here: http://www.wix.com/korkmiami/korkwineandcheese

And yes, food will also be available Image

For those of you staying in hotels near the port, the Metromover system is another free and easy way to get to the show.
The Miami Avenue station is located right above the venue: http://www.miamidade.gov/transit/mover_stations.asp

So, before we all get on the cruise, come out and get bruised! :metalguy: :heavydrink: :stagger: :smash: :pound: :whisky: :bmhorns:  :boobs: :wank: :beerbang: :death:

Is this the only pre-show that will be happening? I would of thought that there might of been something better with some local FL talent that might not be on the ship or some headliner band.

FYI: Donn posted this on FB.

Just thought I'd drop a little update on the Pre Party for you all. Due to construction delays at Avenue D, the Pre Party will not be happening.....at Avenue D. Instead, after looking around and getting a few false leads, the fun will now take place at Grand Central, which is only a few blocks North of Avenue D. Feel free to check the event page, for the updated info: http://www.facebook.com/events/285244511500809/

I also now have to replace the opening band, but I have a list of contenders, so no worries. So in the meantime, be sure to spread the word about this event to everyone you can, and send invites from the page to anyone you can think of. I want this to be even bigger and better than the last one.

And for those wondering about the proposed POST Party, well I am working on that right now with a different venue. I hope to have word on that soon enough.

There's always gonna be a complainer or two. Some people seem to think that doing this sort of thing, or getting some bigger name band involved, is easy. Believe me, it involves a bit of juggling, especially when I've had to switch venues TWICE. And believe me, the list of available venues in the vicinity that are capable of doing this properly is a short one. So no, it's not always easy.

On that note, I'm beginning to think that the chances for the Post Party are looking a bit grim, BUT I haven't given up on that just yet. So bear with me.

Not quite correct. It's about both of these things equally. After all, this cruise is based on our love of Metal. The Pre Party is no different. It's just on a smaller scale :viking:

Appreciate the work Capt. Looking forward to the preparty yet again, and hoping for a post party. If not, we'll have an unofficial one somewhere

Yeah, we don't need some fancy venue with bands (although it would be cool if it happens) just pick a decent sized bar that we can completely take over and we can make our own fun!

I love the idea of just taking a place over. Did this in college many times. We would take over a bar, and only allow women in. I still remember how freaked out an owner got when we started doing beer slides across the dance floor.
Never take anything I say seriously.

I'm still pretty skeptical about drinking on the beach, especially in such large numbers. Slightly worried the authorities wouldn't like it.

I don't like to mix my drinks though. Full bottle of pure whiskey might also be suspicious... and dangerous. :P
