    HOW MUCH ARE DRINKS

    by jraab » Tue May 11, 2010 2:16 pm

Canadian here.....we tend to have a heavy hand with the beers.

Anyone know what the charges will be for the drinks?
can we buy bottle on board?
    can we bring booze aboard?

    thanks,

    Jon

according to what I read on the main website yes you can buy a duty free bottle on board however you cannot drink the bottle during the cruise. They give it to you when you disembark. You cannot bring booze on board. I don't know about the prices I can ask in another forum I'm on.

I can understand the rules, but it sucks in one way. It would be cool to have a bottle of something or a case of beer in the cabin to enjoy when not watching the shows. It's not so cool having to run to the bar every 15 minutes to get a new drink. Especially if ya want to enjoy those drinks naked

although bringing ANY outside alcohol onto the ship would be a violation of the cruise agreement, might I suggest these; http://www.rumrunnerflasks.com/

Bar menu from the Schooner Bar:

    http://travel.webshots.com/photo/127811 ... 4116kgCgkg

I don't know how old that is and it's also from a different Royal Caribbean vessel. I assume however that the prices are about the same on all their ships.

Okay well close as I can get by posting on another forum drinks are like $7-$9 for mixed drinks don't get the drink of the day because its more and comes in a souveneir glass. Beers are like $5 but you can get "buckets of beer" for a better deal near the pool.

Yeah, I was kind of curious what kind of bar tabs people will run up on this sucker. I have to figure out how much I can allow myself to spend. At least by the time we take this cruise, tax refund time is only a couple of weeks away (if you are like me and do it as fast as possible because you usually need the money bad!)

The rest of the feedback I've gotten in the other forum is:

TAKE HALF THE CLOTHES (you think you'll need) AND TWICE THE MONEY.

    Sounds right.

Your on holiday, your spending a lot anyways. it would cost that much anywhere for drinks, who cares how much you drink and worry about the tab later. its all about the good times!

This has been our philosophy, as well. Short of sneaking booze through security (and WHO would EVER do such a thing?!) we're all here to have fun, so, as people have stated already -- bring as much cash as you can afford to blow on drinks, and then bring a little more.

And hey... there are casinos on board. I suggest brushing up on your Blackjack skills and packing your lucky rabbit's foot. Maybe you could win some extra booze money..? :beerwink:

    Totally agree.

I mean one is spending a whole lot of money just getting on this fantastic event(around 4000 usd for the wife and me with flights and hotel in Miami) so it would be a disater, letting worrying about the cost of drinks spoil the whole thing.

Eating is free so MORE money for boose

I am looking forward to spend shit loads of money on beer and drinks and having the time of my life :heavydrink:

Oh yeah I go by that philosophy usually, I just expected the drinks to be a little cheaper that's all.

Generally having a great and memorable experience is worth way more than whatever things end up costing you in the end. You will always remember the good times, and likely completely forget about the extra hours you had to work to pay for them :beerwink:

Well then you better go eat on your own in Bergen. We (my party) eat daily at the 24 hour hot dog/sausage stand 1/2 block from the hotel. It's delish and since nothing is cheap in Norway, I do not consider that "because we are cheap"

That place saved me at 4 am.

No one is talking about Norway

That country doesn´t even count when talking about prices for beer and food, everybody goes cheap when in Norway ;)

I have been in Norway many times and I sure like the country ,people and their music..............but their prices on everything are just insane.

I was. got a problem with it? Chopper and I are going to Hole in the Sky festival. I guess I should have pm'd him. Not to get into a pissing match but I have been to Norway many times as well.

    Back to topic

Drinks are VERY expensive on the cruise. A six pack of beer is well over 30 dollars.

    Good for you guys!

If you would have botherd to read everything i said you would have realised that things were spoken/whritten in a humoristic way...............

Are you always in a bad mood???

    on the topic.

The prices are what you might expect on a cruise and most festivals (in europe anyway) EXPENSIVE!

But that is the point of the matter, gon´t let the price of drinks spoil the trip,I mean if you can´t afford it(and this is not pointet at you Tom)don´t go,beacause it would ruin the whole thig if one has to be thinking carefully about how many drinks one can afford when standing at the bar.

But there are also those who will just be drinking coffe and juice, and they are totally safe ;)

Yes PEACE. Dave Mustaine might now be buying, but I am. :) I just want rainbows, flowers, woodland critters and metal

    :)

And I am being serious. :)

    Cheers!!!!

This board has a huge diverse group of metalheads from all over the world and so maybe things are looked negatively by someone when really it is not? Not sure. But I do know, due to my 20 times to Europe that miscommunication happens a lot with American/Europeans. We are different in our mannerisms and what we do and how we live our lives.

    It's all good.

I have absolutly no problem with you,not at all.

I don´t know you so I can not have a problem with you,and I am sad that you think so.

I do not agree with you on may matters, but I respect all people and their opinions.

    Peace my Metal brother!

I know, but it kind of hurts me that they do not agree with me on "may matters". I want them to not agree with me on June and July as well.

I think they meant Many matters

I just read my words over and I can understand that it could look a bit "hostile" but thats the way i speak.

But that´s the fucking problem with the internet,it´s so difficult to intepurite(spelling?) what people actually mean, because you can´t se the face and hear the woice of people.

Well I am having a beer right now and I´m in a good fucking mood so have a good weekend all :viking:

I say "they" because like the way things are worded on the internet, I have gone for months thinking someone was a dude and it turned out to be a girl.

So I say They, until I know what sex they are.
