Awwwww yisss. No seriously, these ones.

    Plus Chaos Divine.

Yes! Sick as a dog but still dragging myself out to see Voyager tonight in Melbourne. Have also seen Be'lakor and Ne Obliviscaris a few times already this year... Please don't kill me.

Would love them to get the exposure that 70k offers! Aussie metal is often forgotten on the International scene, and some of our bands like Destroyer 666 have found more success by being overseas than being home.

He actually sat down with me and gave me a private 'lesson' of shorts, by playing a handful of songs just to me. I gave him my debut album and we discussed it a bit, seeing as how they influenced us a bunch.

This was a couple years back at NAMM.

Man, I'm really jealous! There's been a lot of impressive stuff coming out of AUS in the last few years. Destroyer 666 played the Noctis festival here a few years back, but other than that there hasn't been any opportunity for me to see any of these aussie bands. Perhaps the next couple years will change that!

Thanks! Yeah I had a great time with him. I also met Felipe and Kiko, but they were more in a hurry; I only chatted with them for 30 seconds (I still had time to gush to Kiko about how much of an influence his guitar playing has had on me, also that the Rebirth album changed my life but that's another story..)

You'll meet Rafael for sure on the boat! I feel like they are one of the lesser-known bands, thus they may not be swarmed as much as others. Good luck!

It would be awesome to have a clinic with Kiko/Rafael and Felipe. Felipe is an amazing bassist.

Just so we can start talking about Angra again, I don't know how I've NEVER heard this song before:

Angra -- Out Of This World: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOVNOBsbiBc

Apparently it was a bonus for the Japanese version of Aurora Consurgens. It's all Rafa on vocals. He's really, really good. I wouldn't mind him just doing the vocal work for the cruise. This song is great.

EDIT: Like, he's good enough that he would be the best singer in just about any other power metal band out there these days.
EDIT2: Reminds me of the first time I heard Jani Liimatainen (Sonata Arctica/Cain's Offering) sing with the Sydänpuu and the Cain's Offering bonus track. Hanging around Tony Kakko and Kotipelto really rubbed off on him and they hid him behind a guitar all those years?!?!

    Hello,

As I was saying King Diamond would be a great great for 70000 tons.

What about Killing Joke? This could be do able.

Where do I email my excellent suggestions. To Whom.

Let's see Destroyer 666 or Killing Joke? Hard decision right.

Look I am all for underground bands but let's get a few REAL bands on the bill too.

Also, Does anyone think that the last 10 announcements would convince someone to buy a ticket? ReallY? Be Honest here.

    Don't you agree?

If you're being serious, it might be worth some hard thought of whether this is the right way for you to spend money. Lots of fests out there that might be more attuned to your tastes.

Last we heard from the American scouting party they were moving North. How far North did they get? All the way to Canada! That was UNEXPECT! What about our scouting party in Russia, where are they headed?

not really my cup of tea (mug of Beer) ... not enough to get me to commit to a second cruise ........ could really use one/two more awesome bands to help make up my mind if I will risk financial ruin for the year (not to mention using up more vacation time so soon in the year) :beerhorns:

Listening to the first song ('Megalomaniac Trees'). Sounds like something you'd hear in a Tim Burton film.

Reminds me quite a bit of a heavier version of Sonata Arctica's 'Deathaura', too.

EDIT: I actually prefer watching live videos of bands I've never listened to before. Found this live version of 'Megalomaniac Trees'. They look like they could have great stage presence. . .with a bigger stage, of course: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7yj7wDItVE

Adds to my growing list of "bands I'll probably catch a set of".

I have a fair list of those, and a fair list of "looking forward to seeing live again".

Still no "OMFG FINALLY I GET TO SEE THEM LIVE!" bands on the lineup for me though :(

This is great. This is the best line-up of all the cruises for me. I'm extra fucking stoked and can't wait to see what's next!

We're getting prog this time! We're getting avante-garde! Finally, some full-spectrum variety! Now even though they're not my thing, some Black and Grind would really round up the lineup style-wise.

Bring on the cruise. 7 wishlist bands so far, and several others I'm very excited to see. I'm gonna have no time for you lovely people on the cruise...

Your enthusiasm makes me want to book more than almost all the announcements combined (excluding Metal Church)
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

hahaha well I'm glad! There have just been so many bands announced that either hold sentimental value for me, or are bands I've never seen and have been a long-time fan. I understand that this may not be the lineup for everyone, but it's really tickling my nether-regions. I'm gonna miss you on the cruise man. You gonna be in town the week before Christmas? It's a possibility that Elly and I may come out there for four or five days :)

Off work from the 14th to the 22nd but return to work on the 23rd for the full 5 day week including xmas and boxing day (woohoo for double time and a half!). If the 4 or 5 days prior to includes that weekend of the 21st/22nd that would rock. My birthday is the 21st and I have no plans but dinner and/or a show with you guys would be a great way to spend it. PM me as plans solidify :beerbang:

That 9-string bass is wicked. Thanks for posting the video. I have seen Unexpect live, once a while back and they were great. I'm quite happy about this announcement. Especially since some peeps have been asking for them since before the first cruise.

Happy to see people excited for Unexpect but they're definitely not for me; I do not enjoy most avant-garde metal at all, with rare exceptions. So far only 5 two-setter bands for me, but that's okay; I'll plant my ass on the pool deck with a drink and watch pretty much whatever comes on in between :beerwink:
