X-Thor wrote:As I told Stach once, if you really hate the current line-up, don't book or cancell your ticket. But don't say UMC isn't listening to its customers. From what I can tell, most of 70Kers are quite happy with the current line-up.

I do not think that anybody European music is the main reason to go on a cruise, here are however hundreds of metal festivals, where the lineup is at a different level than any UMC cruise

All I have to say is I loved the first 2 cruises. The line ups were great.
That is the reason I booked early for this cruise.
I just hope that the next few announcements are more in line with that of the first 2.

Seriously though, this guy can't hold a candle to Whichbeer.

Witchbear was clever, entertaining, uplifting, thought-provoking, original and, as far as I can remember (hint, hint, WHERE ARE YOU WB?), never pissed all over one of my fave bands

Sorry Dklean but I can't cut you any slack with all your MC bashing. The current lineup is awesome as is the material they've written before. I'm pretty sure the 'reunion' tag was in reference to the fact that the current lineup was forced to pack it in a few years back and have now found whatever was needed to give it another shot. No, it's not a reunion for fans of their earliest works but that doesn't completely invalidate it the way it seems to have for you. Sorry you're so disappointed by it but I'd gladly trade ya spots if I could afford it. I really do hope the rest of the announcements help ya put the pin back in the grenade and you enjoy the cruise as much as I did the first two.

So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

In the beginning there was Iron Butterfly, later there was Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow.
But That is the only reference to butterflies and rainbows I have ever heard connected to metal...except in this thread!

Firewind would be nice; they're cheesy as hell so my weenieness is okay with it.

Holy Grail releasing a new album on January 22nd. Been in contact with them a few times about the cruise (they live right down the street from my ex-girlfriend and went to high school with one of my coworkers) and I know they're aware of it and have tried to get in contact with someone there. That wouldn't surprise me either. This belongs in the rumor thread.

As long as the scouting crew is in Canada, why not pick up Sheavy?

Another oldie but goodie that is still touring is Krokus!
    From the Krokus web site...
"The Swiss rockers record here(Abbey Roads Studio) songs for their new CD «Dirty Dynamite». The album is slated to be released January 25th, 2013."
So they could debut the new cd Onbroad!!!!

I've seen Krokus twice but it was many years ago.
They were excellent in concert, Fernando Von Arb has that special quality that comes out in his guitar playing.

I'm really not happy with the last few announcements for 70k. As has been said already, I am really hoping for some more thrash, black, and death announcements. More than anything I would love for some BAL SAGOTH. Also, there are so many bands playing that tour all the time. I am ok with folk, but just about all the bands have come through recently or are about to again. I'm spending $2000+ on this venture to see something new...and preferrably...THRASH!!!
