In truth though there are already more bands on here then i had planned on watching along with all the other things the boat has to offer. Some heavyier bands would be a nice addition

That would be women and around these parts one has to give in to the awful sound that is country music to really broaden ones prospects with the ladies.

I wish. TrollfesT would certainly fill the "fun" band quota a la Swashbuckle/Alestorm from the past two years.

If not, it's only a few more months til Paganfest.

Heidevolk I'd be good with. I really hope Trollfest doesn't make it. Well, I guess it would be good for people who like them but I just don't like them. Not one bit.

They're Norwegian Nekrogoblikon even down to the damn structure of the songs. The similarity is frightening (I'll post more when I get home from work about some songs that sound very similar).

I am totally good with TrollfesT.

Your Trip Of A Lifetime Begins In 6 Weeks!

    by Andy » Mon Dec 17, 2012 5:42 pm

After almost getting lost in the rough waters of the North Sea, we were drawn to The Netherlands by some symphonic sounds... the sound of DELAIN! As every year we need some Dutch onbroad... hang on, the Dutch? Aren't they a real HEIDEVOLK?

So who will be the last lucky 13 onbroad, and what the hell are our scouting parties in Eastern Europe and freezing cold Canada doing?

Two great adds. So many bands I want to see, yet no 10-out-of-10 yet. I don't even know what would be...I guess Guardian. Great choices Andy, this year looks to be solid overall.

Just realized that these bands are both belonging to the rainbow brigade. Hi Stach!

    From Wikipedia:

"Heidevolk was founded under the name Hymir in 2002 by six men. The name was changed to Heidevolk (Dutch for "heath-folk") inspired by the Veluwe landscape.[citation needed] The band started performing live in 2003. Since then the band has released one demo, four full-length studio albums, and one EP."

    Has anyone updated Dutchguy Tim?

Haven't seen him around in ages but I suspect this may signal a reappearance of the original Dutch Derailer and maybe his partner in crime Michael too :headbanger:

Since we are sailing from Miami, it may be prudent to have a few bands people from Miami may have slightly heard of.

Yea I dont like the new album at all but the previous two were solid. Marco from Nightwish does a lot of songs with them and we were lucky enough to see him join Delain on stage at progpower a few years back. Hoping they snag some awesome vocalist for his parts on the boat.

So who will be the last lucky 13 onbroad, and what the hell are our scouting parties in Eastern Europe and freezing cold Canada doing?

    Has anyone updated Dutchguy Tim?

Haven't seen him around in ages but I suspect this may signal a reappearance of the original Dutch Derailer and maybe his partner in crime Michael too :headbanger:

That was my first thought

I tried checking out Delain a while back and just couldn't get into it. Heidevolk's a decent announcement though. Hopefully our eastern Europe scouting party is picking up Negura Bunget or Dordeduh :D
I should get around to updating my signature

For anyone confused as to who is Sophie Lancaster:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Sophie_Lancaster

Someone should write and record a metal song or album in her honour
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

Agreed. I like girly metal but this and (Amaranthe) I will definitely not consider metal

Kind of figured Heidevolk would get added with two other Paganfest bands already being on the boat though. Wasnt expecting Delain at all

We are going to get 2 or 3 bands announced this week, 2 on or right near xmas day, 1 between xmas and New Year's, 2 on or near New Year's, 5 or 6 announced during January with a final announcement of 3 bands on the Friday before broading:

FIREWIND - good chance considering the direction the Russian scouting party is heading
DEMONHUNTER and/or BATTLECROSS - both touring with In Flames (so is ALL SHALL PERISH - but possibly they are a bit too 'core' for 70K), and I expect there to be at least 6 more US bands added
MAGNUM - boat needs another UK band or two, and I've been pestering Andy forever to get them onbroad :P (ie. this is wishful thinking on my behalf LOL)
POWERWOLF - a wishlist band for a lot of people. I'm sure Andy has been after them.
BLOODBOUND - need more Swedes on broad. These guys would fit right in, and they've got a new album out to promote.
FINNTROLL - I don't personally want another repeat band, but given the 'non-announcement' of them for BTH, 70K is a distinct possibility.
AMARANTHE/LEAVES EYES/WITHIN TEMPTATION/DELAIN/XANDRIA - lumped all in one as I don't expect multiple of them on broad, but the lineup is missing a 'big' girlie band a la Epica in 2011 or Nightwish in 2012, so I expect (hope for) one of these one broad.
BATTLELORE - expect another Finnish band or two on broad. Would love these guys and girls to be one of them.
Final announcement will be three bands - 1 relatively well known and 2 'unknowns' (2011 we had Circle II Circle with Arsis and The Abscence, 2012 had Candlemass with Diamond Plate and Meghora)

My predictions not bad so far!! 2 bands this week, one of which was DELAIN :)

Forgot about Xandria...I'd love to see them and I suspect they'd be decently heavy live.

    Thanks.
