I will have dig through my LPs and find the only Lizzy Borden album I have and give it the first listen in about 25 years!

But really don't you think all of the bands must already booked? Last minute travel plans can be very difficult and expensive.
The same applies to last minute passengers. I would not want to be scrambling to make reservations right now.
If this is true I can not imagine why the bands are not announced.

Even though they are a classic band, I've never heard them. I'll let them surprise me on the boat

I don't know a lot about Lizzy Borden, but for the songs I heard, they're quite good. It's another band to see on the ship :D

I've never felt so happy and confident w/ my decision to choose Barge over 70K and for my assessment that DrinkMoxie would prefer Barge over 70K (wonder if he stills disagrees w/ that). LIzzy Borden

I'm super happy for their fans that are going though.

I've seen Lizzy Borden live twice before. Great addition. I would catch both sets if I was going. Knowing Lizzy Borden is touring this year makes me feel I will still have a chance to catch the 30th anniversary show live.

I think Bentz! has said he really dug their live show as well - so I might check 'em out if they swing through my town this year. Hoping that might be sometime in Jun-Dec, since my Jan-May is pretty booked up so far with a variety of live performance events.

:P sounds entertaining....although I'm a bit confused - probably because I just looked at (what appeared to be) 80s videos with the huge glam hair & make-up & all - it seems they've gone through some image (at least in looks/costumes, etc) changes along the road? Will check out some more recent vids next.

I think Bentz! has said he really dug their live show as well - so I might check 'em out if they swing through my town this year. Hoping that might be sometime in Jun-Dec, since my Jan-May is pretty booked up so far with a variety of live performance events.

I'd love to see the Ragnarokkr fest guys grab Lizzy Borden for one of their bands. I'd go for sure then.

you don't pay much attention... do you?
I HATED almost all the bands on Barge... the very few I liked I'd seen, except Sodom.
I appreciate more with 70k... but am thrilled I booked neither... if both were coming up and I had the money to spend on one, I'd choose 70k over BtH still

To be fair, I think the Canadian takeover of the hot tub during Nightwish might've been my highlight last year

That was totally one of my highlights too. I have no idea how that happened but I propose that it happen again! Canadian hot tub party, now with more Timmies.

Ah cool, I have a great pic of that crowd as my desktop background. I didn't think there were any forumers in it.

It'll happen again, I swear it on my maple syrup. I'll just bring a canadian flag and hang it over the hot tub when it's time (srs)

Time for statsman to reach into his bag of tricks for some interesting (well I think they are interesting anyway!) stats!

Using last.fm listeners as a measure of "popularity" its interesting to note that in the current 2013 lineup, there are only 10 bands with more than 200,000 listeners:
IN FLAMES, LACUNA COIL, DRAGONFORCE, HELLOWEEN, KREATOR, ENSIFERUM, SABATON, TIAMAT, ANGRA, NILE

The lineups for 2011 and 2012 had 17 and 16 respectively.

So will we get 6 or 7 'big' bands in the final announcements? That would be nice. Bands from my wishlist that have over 200,000 listeners would be:
WITHIN TEMPTATION, AVANTASIA, LEAVES EYES, XANDRIA, ACCEPT

Another interesting fact - months back, I went through 'wishlists' in the 2013 wishlist thread, and collated the info there. Currently we have 5 bands from the top 15 most requested:
    Helloween, Kreator, Arkona, Turisas, Hedevolk

    The other 10 bands were:
Accept, Immortal, King Diamond, Running Wild, Hypocrisy, Symphony X, Kalmah, Powerwolf, Bolt Thrower, Madder Mortem

I would be totally agreeable with a few off that list :)

I'm fearing we won't get any bigger names this late. Well, I'm fine with smaller names, but I'm not holding my breath over good death metal announcements.
Within Temptation would be awesome, and it's really strange they haven't been on the boat already.

Its really strange they haven't been to Australia already!! If it wasn't for the fact that they seem to do a lot of 'public' stuff like fan-club days etc I would accuse WT of not being very 'fan friendly', and hence not wanting to do something like 70k.

Every time I've seen them, they've been really friendly and interacted with the fans. Like at the Tavastia club in Helsinki after the gig the whole band came to the bar and chatted with the fans. So, yeah, they really should be on the boat.
