They might not book because there's no drink packages? No offense but I don't think they were coming for the right reasons anyways.

use rum runners and bring your own booze on! I typically bring 3 liters on in the rum runners with no issue. No alcohol package shouldn't be the make or brake of joining in on the most amazing week of each year.

^Exactly. It's pretty easy to get alcohol onboard and he drinks are so alcoholic that you can get a REALLY good buzz going without breaking the bank… at least in my experience. It's not like an outdoor festival where a beer is $8.

Apparently you can bring two bottles of mead on instead of wine… I think I will do that.

This is good advice for the cruise in general. PACE YO SELF. So many people go into it raging super hard and end up missing some of the best shows that happen around midnight. Drink water, get *some* sleep. Last year I made a rule of drinking one glass of water per boozy drink and I feel like it really helped.

 Yeah. It was my fifth cruise and I never had issues til this year but I definitely learned my lesson! I hadn't smuggled booze on before, so I got significantly more drunk than I had in the past. I didn't even wind up spending any less onbroad, just drank more, so I probably just won't bring any booze on next year so I don't have a 3 day long hangover on the boat!

That is a very, very good point. I wanted to bring two bottles of mead or something but I feel that I'll likely just end up being more drunk and spending the same amount of money on super ultra girly drinks.

    +1

The drinks onbroad are EXTREMELY alcoholic. At least they were for me.... I actually remember asking for 'more cola' a couple times because it was literally just a glass of straight vodka and ice or whatever . My bill was two pages long. I estimate that I had somewhere between 30 and 45 drinks total that week easily (probably more with the sheer amount they poured). Thank the powers that I won a few hundred at the casino too and paid for the bulk of that hehehe.

I drank WAY more than last year, but never got really wasted. Probably because I stuffed myself with food at least 3 times a day and kept running from stage to stage and jumping at every show.

I did find myself falling asleep at around 7pm, so I tried to get at least a triple espresso every day when I got sleepy. Ah, the wonders of caffeine.

The sweet lady at Viking Crown stopped adding non-alcoholic beverages to our drinks sometime on Tuesday. When I asked for a Coke I fully expected to pay somewhere in a range of $3 for a can but she just brought some in a glass and said "Here, it's what I stopped putting in your drinks a while ago." Hope her transfer papers go through, she said she wanted to transfer to Liberty of the Seas!!!

Mead is technically a wine though. I'm planning on bringing some mead that I got as a gift from a friend (he makes mead in his home) and I'll be bummed if they make me trash it.

So, I can bring two wine bottles with me? Is there a size limit, or can I bring two 1.5 liter bottles?

Will they force me to open them to check the contents? If not, I may have a plan.

they will usually check and make sure that the bottle of wine are not open. you can be like my grandma and her friends when they go on their cruises and just put booze in mouth wash bottles etc. and I have put bottle of booze inside Gatorade bottles on cruises previously and just tightened the cap a ton, and gotten away with it. :deathmetal:

Use Rum Runner flasks. I've been looking on some of the other cruise forums and apparently there hasn't yet been a problem with people using them to sneak booze onto a ship, as the flasks unable to be detected by the scanners on cruise ships.

So, I can bring two wine bottles with me? Is there a size limit, or can I bring two 1.5 liter bottles?

Will they force me to open them to check the contents? If not, I may have a plan.

750 ml only as I've seen it, or perhaps 750 ml max?
Never heard of them being opened, but I'd suspect they should look legit.

From the Royal Carribean Website http://www.royalcaribbean.com/customersupport/faq/details.do?pagename=frequently_asked_questions&faqId=5442&faqSubjectId=336

Guests wishing to bring personal wine and champagne onboard may do so only on boarding day, limited to two (2) 750 ml bottles per stateroom. No beer or hard liquor may be brought onboard for consumption.

Additional bottles of wine beyond two (2) bottles that are brought onboard or any alcoholic beverages purchased in ports of call or from onboard shops during the cruise vacation will be stored onboard and delivered to guest staterooms on the last day of the sailing.

So I know I'll get laughed at for this, but is there a hair dryer in the rooms?

There was on the other boats and I'm sure there will be on this one. If not you can usually ask the hospitality people for one

I'm thinking of using Rum Runner flasks. I have been lurking through some of the other RCCL forums and as far as I could tell, there haven't been any problems.

My thoughts on this (and don't take it personally by any means!). People have paid like one thousand pounds for the ticket to the boat, and some of us coming from other continents pay nearly twice as much for the whole experience. After paying so much money, is it really necessary to smuggle some booze just to save a few bucks? I mean, it takes me a lot of effort to save the money for this trip, but once I'm on the boat I don't mind spending some extra 100 bucks in buying "legal" booze.

Royal Caribbean doesn't care if you sneak a little alcohol on the ship ,it would be too much of a pain in the butt to stop it all.Besides people who sneak stuff on the ship probably buy more than they would if they didn't.It sounds strange but the guilt some feel or the sense "they pulled one over " on the big corporation.leads people to spend more.

Kinda makes sense, plus, if you've picked up a pace and suddendly run out mid trip, you're gonna want to keep going

Many MANY forumites have used rum runners on past trips without any trouble. At least none that we've heard back about here as far as I can recall

I agree with you but I won't turn 21 until a few months after the cruise so I think this is my only option  I think if I go in 2016 then I will patronize the bars a lot and not worry about sneaking on booze.
