Things to do before/after the cruise (70K) (MOAR LISTS!)

Yes, this will be a list.

Also, let's see how many post does it take to derail the thread =P

Anyway, I'm thinking many of us will arrive/depart at least a day before/after the cruise departs/arrives. So I thought we could meet for certain events, both before and after the cruise.

I hereby propose the following list, so you may add suggestions and, if possible, wether you'd like to attend.

Well, I can't push myself cause of some troubles with my shoulders, but if someone can find a wheelchair in the area of the beach party and push me, there's no problem

Actually, I'm planing on spend most of my two afternoons in Miami shopping. So here's the list of places I must visit:

- Costume Store
- Action Figure Store (maybe Spencer's)
- Comics Store
- Liquor Store

Don't know about South Beach but I went to Titanic Brewery and Pub near the University last year. Easily accessible from the metrorail. May try to go to World of Beer, which is also off the metrorail. Also check out the Burger and Beer Joint. There's one in Miami Beach.

Well, if there are some good shops around my hotel, why not. I could join you, but as I can't walk for a too long distance and walk quite slow, that would bore you I think.

Well, if there are some good shops around my hotel, why not. I could join you, but as I can't walk for a too long distance and walk quite slow, that would bore you I think.

Yep, that what I thought, a regular wheelchair wont be suitable for beach. That means that I'll contact the link you gave me and see if I can rent one of those just for the beach party. Never mind for the shopping, I'll rest on the Saturday to be ok for the pre-preparty with the Folk/Turisas fans on Saturday evening

Well, after few hours of thought, I'll finally give up the beach party

There are several reasons for that:

1. The wheelchair issue. To rent one of it would cost me something more and I haven't a lot of money. The place where I could eventually rent one will be probably closed on Sunday. I just don't know how I could manage to get it. Then, my hotel isn't at Miami Beach, so, how to go to the beach party with the wheelchair?

2. As I said, I haven't so much money. As I have to use taxis the most of the time (from airport to the hotel, from the hotel to the bar for the pre-party with Folk/Turisas fans on Saturday, from the bar to the hotel, and so on) so I prefer to not spend too much money for transportations (I can't use buses) and more for drink

3. Last but not least, the tiring issue. As I'm going to travel from Switzerland on the Friday, spend some time at the hotel's bar on that evening, plus the Saturday and hopefully the Sunday evening, I also need to rest before the cruise.

And well, we will have the time to meet each other while the cruise afterall

At least, for the ones I wont to meet between the Friday and the Monday

Of course you know your own limits best, but I thought I'd point out that the paths onto the beach where we'll be are hard-packed. Until you get very close to the water, it's not overly "sandy" sand, if that makes sense.
