Hey at least it's cheaper than the theme parks, which charge $14-16.

When I moved here 8 years ago parking was $8, highway freaking robbery. Hence why I'm clever enough to scam this when going to Disney.

Thanks, I guess that's not too bad considering how much I'll be spending anyways. I'm just a little leary about flying that time of year. With my luck a blizzard would come along and delay my flight or cancel it altogether. I think I would rather drive through a blizzard than fly through one anyways. .....but then again a 22 hour drive does'nt sound too appealing either.

I'm not booking anything until at least august... If you stay ontop of the airlines you can get a real cheap rate. Last year I got round trip tickets for $120!! I go to trip advisor for motels/hotels. I don't wana stay in a shithole!!! I will spend the money for a decent one with a breakfast and a shuttle to the cruise. They range from $ 140 on up a night ..Usually they have double beds you could always bunk with us to save some money... Just a thought!. :death:

You have a travel website and YOU need to know airport to fly into? Talk about a blonde moment.

Miami is the obvious closest. Or Orlando and then drive 4 hours south. Or Melbourne, Fort Lauderdale, etc.

Nothing is closer than the Miami airport. I would assume the prices to other airports would be the same, so unless you wanted to travel around Florida, there isn't a need to look elsewhere.

You can always fly into Orlando and hit Walt Disney World, Universal Studios or Seaworld if that's your thing. But you still gotta drive 4 hours to get to the cruise ship then.

MIA is your best bet in terms of distance. The secondary choice would be Ft. Lauderdale International, which is no more then an hour north (less depending on traffic). That one might cost you a bit less rather then flying into MIA.

    Just something to consider ;)

Thanks Captain! I read on the website that is about 24 bucks to take a cab from the Miami International Airport to the Port, which isn't to shabby!

Just a quick FYI for anyone who cares. If you go to airtrans website they have webbooking. If you catch them at the right time you can get cheap tickets. It cost me $100 to fly one way from NY to FL. Aslo if your looking for a Hotel.. did some reasearch..... I went to tripadvisor.com. Found some decent hotels not far from the ship. The Hamton In was my choice It was $160 threw booking.com. Its only 8 miles from the port. The shuttle to the port is only $10 and they have a free shuttle to and from the Miami airport to the hotel. A added bonus ... free hot/cold breakfast. Free ia always gooood!! There are pleanty of hotels that are cheaper but you get what you pay for. Hope this helps someone in someway... :death:

Depending on what develops and how much cash I'll have, I might arrive a few days early to Miami to have some fun with all you fellow metalheads. If we can organize getting a group rate from some hotel I shouldn't have much trouble joining in.

Yeah , I think it would be in the best interest for everyone to plan on being there the day before....It would be a damn shame if anyone missed the ship because of delay's out of their control!

Too late, I booked before considering that so I'm trusting the Old Gods and the Metal Gods and Witch Bear's Gods to all keep an eye on things for me and make sure I get from here to there without a hitch. With all 3 of those groups on my side, I'm not worried at all :D

well last year my gf and me stayed in miami downtown... it might suck there but the hotel was not to shabby in pricing... the bed was rather clean... on the other hand... the restaurant was closed with a chain and the elevator... my gf just called it cheap and when we where there she said that it came from the movie saw...

it was the riverside park hotel and suites...

the rooms are cheap... 80 dollars a night for 2 people...

the pool is shitty beyond recognision and wel... it shitty abut cheap... here a link:p

Too late, I booked before considering that so I'm trusting the Old Gods and the Metal Gods and Witch Bear's Gods to all keep an eye on things for me and make sure I get from here to there without a hitch. With all 3 of those groups on my side, I'm not worried at all :D

Good luck! Better try to change your flight... you know, winter, snow, bad weather, flight delays... well figure the rest for yourself...

I already tried. It would cost more than what I paid for my flight to change it so it is what it is.
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

What's your arrival time? Are you coming in on a red-eye flight?

Yeah, I don't have my info in front of me atm but if there's no delays or problems, I land with about 4 - 6 hours to spare before being late for final boarding. Couple that with the online pre-boarding thing and I should be good to go unless there's something major... In which case I suppose I'll be embarking on my own little 5 day Floridian exploration adventure

We are discussing various ideas at the moment. We will see if there is going to be an official pre-cruise party. This may involve some of our media partners. There might be several "pre-cruise parties"
