All the bands on 70K2K13 so far may not be "big names" (Subway to Sally, for example, isn't big outside of Germany), but they're all established acts. Usually the last few bands will give us a younger band with an opportunity to impress.

Kevin, I agree on that point, that's why it's called the Cripper award
Updated the top of the page with the overall consensus. looking forward to 70k to see who gets it!
Or do you think we should do a poll for the Barge winner?

Since you are the official chairman of the Cripper Award, I say screw the vote and give it to SEITA!!

Uh, who are you voting for?

I don't see any potential candidates on the billing so far...
hmmmm....
Dark Dreams wrote:I don't think that Ektomorf would count. I did not know the band until they got announced for 70,000tons, but did some research. One of their albums even made it in the German charts and they have over 100,000 listeners on last.fm... so not an up and coming band by any means.

Mooyagi posted one of their songs ('The Last Free Land') in a thread in The Engine and I've listened to it about 25 times in the past few weeks -- honestly, my favorite song of 2012.
Would love to see them on for Cripper award purposes. The last few announcements for Barge were South American bands, so maybe there's a chance. . .

You're a little obsessed with that song

I'm not really sure of the popularity of these. I've seen Threat Signal twice so I'm not sure if they count.

I'm pretty sure they were with Blackguard, opening for Epica.
