Two more repeats. That might disappoint a few people. Glad that one repeat band there is one that I love.

I missed Raven last time, so I'm stoked on all 3 bands! Rising Storm sounds really awesome, our first Cripper award nominee!

Glad they were announced now, instead of in the days before the cruise for sure. More time to check them out - may even buy their CD :)

Yea im not too happy with 2 of them being repeats, but I missed 95% of Orphand Land's pool deck set in an attempt to get 1 candlemass shirt that sold out before I could get it  Andy should just announce all repeats at one time so when we wait extended periods of time we dont get -_-. 4th year but still.

Rising Storm is alright from what ive heard so far. Nothing ill ever really listen to but ill throw the album on youtube and have it as background music.

I'm guessing Rising Storm. Calling them Power Metal is a little bit of a stretch - there are certainly some power metal elements to their music but that's about it :)

I live in a city with almost zero gigs(I have to travel to attend). Reapeats are always ok as long as I like the band but in 2015 my focus will be european festivals. I can select well in advance a roaster I like....

With UMC you stay hostage and I don´t like that. Those 4 first easter eggs made me push the button and now I regreat that. But I am sure that I will have a good time, I only hope that the bands I like will play at a reasonable time( from 10 am to 1 am)

Agreed. Yes, I'll have a good time because of all the friends that will be on the boat. But this year's bullshit has caused me to lose all excitement for the event itself. To be honest, I'd like to see the cruise get cancelled and all of us would just stay in Miami and party.

Better yet, why don't YOU cancel? Nobody's forcing you to go, and if it's so agonizing to you to go on this thing with "all the bullshit" "repeat bands" and "no excitement", then the $300.00 penalty for cancelling would be worth it, am I right? Why not give your spot to someone who WANTS to go? I'm trying to get excited for this trip and some of you are really pissing on the parade here. Stop being a bitch, or cancel your trip.

    Who is "power metal"

Rising Storm can be perfectly considered as a Power Metal act. Just like most of current Power Metal bands, it is a combination of styles... I bet you can only name a few PURE Power Metal bands (hint: Edguy, Blind Guardian, Helloween or Gamma Ray are definitely NOT on that list. Maybe, maybe I would accept Freedom Call or Stratovarius...).

I say this to you and anyone who doesn't know Orphaned Land - (in my view), they are a very special & unique band. I have known of them and enjoyed their music for several years now, have seen them 5x (2x Chicago, 2x 2012 cruise, 1x Germany @ Wacken), and have met some of the band members in Chicago & on the cruise. At times, their religious (or shall I say, philosophy & world-view, come-together, kum ba yah universalism) gets a tad heavy-handed, yet I can overlook that because I believe their hearts are in the right place.

The pool deck set on the 2012 cruise was magical. Maybe Greg (ecliptica) can help me out here since I know he's a super fan), but there was a song they did that I believe Kobi said was something he heard in the synagogue as a child - don't remember the name and would like to hear it again. Anyway, that song (and the whole performance) was outstanding. Although this may sound strange, that is one of those very special experiences that I don't want to try to "repeat." In fact, I may not even attempt to ever see them again. :P It is one of those eccentricities of mine - that repeating specific experiences or attempting to repeat the exact experience that are "peak" type experiences (in particular performance events of any kind) dilutes it somehow. So, for me - better to be in search of the new or novel one. Haha - but that's just me.

In short, for those who don't know OL, check them out - you may really love them. (And then again, you may not! ) And for those who don't know of this movie and book, respectively (Sam Dunn's) Global Metal and Heavy Metal Islam, Orphaned Land is featured prominently in each, and are both very interesting.

I only listened to one song and it sounded like power metal to me. Are they more of a prog/power thing? Cus that's awesome, I actually like that more!

Edit: Ah, yeah. I'm listening to another song now and it sounds absolutely nothing like power metal  It's actually way more up my alley than I first thought though! Definitely a 2 setter just from the 2 songs I heard! There's still some "weeniefied" melodies in it and heavier riffs so I think this band has something for everyone. Love me some prog power!

Edit 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXmoP76ZXxc this was the first song I heard and to me this sounds like heavy German style power metal, but then https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rising-S ... 8091127385 this is more of a proggy type thing. I'm kinda falling in love with this band! No way I'm gonna miss a set.

So I have bought the Album "Tempest" from Rising Storm. Nice thing.

And I think Orphaned Land would also fit. I've heard some songs and I think it's not bad.

Yes. I'd love to have Shlomit onbroad too.

I also love their peace message (they are not religious) and their efforts to make Muslims, Jews and Christians in the Middle East remember that they are human beings.

I'm very happy about this announcement. I'll check both of OL's sets for sure and maybe both of Raven's and Rising Storm's, depending on the final line-up. I'm also bringing merch to get signed by OL. And my Bachelor's Thesis, which quotes one of their songs...
    70K 2013 SURVIVOR (Cabin 2120)
    70K 2014 SURVIVOR (Cabin 2565)

    In perpetual post-cruise depression/pre-cruise anxiety.

Doing my best to be there for 2015.

From Disciples of The Sacred Oath II:

Shall we see the end of war, blood brothers?
Or shall we fill another grave, for ourselves we couldn't save
Weapon of mass obstruction, our hate does blind us all
To the grief of a widow's tears, to the sum of all our fears
    Throughout these blood-red years
    For land, for faith
For that eternal thirst within, that we pray for death to fill
    For revenge, for hate,
For these innocent souls that with their lies they steal
We view this land of destruction,
After the siege that broke through the wall
A trial is held for the guilty, before a court of their pears
"Sentenced to death!" is the sound that they hear
    For war, for death
For the pain bestowed upon those they swore to protect
    For us, for them
For taking our rights and our will to object
Land. Faith. Revenge. Hate. Death. Us.
Them. Fight. Stand. Live. On. We. Must.
Or shall we fill another grave, for ourselves we couldn't save
