Not going this year and with 6/58 sets, that's probably for the better.

Hahaa now we are talking. Bonfire, Cynic and DTA plus full Fire Works - awesome. Double setters all 3 i'd say.

Lala wrote:Cynic - what is that? What has this music got to do with metal? hurts my ears......

Focus was and is pretty ground breaking metal record on the progressive side with all the Jazzy elements. Also Traced In Air had plenty of metal. Both albums are superb. Last EP was more on prog rock side but i love that stuff too so no worries.

I'm happy that everyone else is happy but from my standpoint this line up is getting worse and worse, compared to the previous ones. Makes me even more angry that i skipped last year.

This is a good set of bands, novembers doom are a very nice add, DTA what can i say , ledgends , cynic tho unfamiliar with really really like what i hear, bonfire, mmm i can remember when their first album came out as was a bit unimpressed then, some things dont get better with age ( like me ) so far wife and i quite happy.
tho the OL leaving is a bit odd, would be like seeing vai without steve vai , nightwish without toumas or justin beiber without .................brain surgery :bangers:

saw bonfire the last time opening for stratovarius and hammerfall, and it was for sure a great evening and they kicked ass,
fireworks is fore sure one of their best albums, so shall be party time @ the pooldeck,
with the other adds, ok so far, but no need to run from stage to stage this year,
will stay the whole days outside, and does not matter who's playing, as the line up this year is really the weakest (actually) ever in history of 70K tons of metal, but anyway, party, drinks and nice weather shall be guaranteed

i just hope andy will add 2-3 big power metal bands, more no names will come as each years during the last 48hours.
well, we will enjoy the sun and the journey with some metal music, and we will have our fun as usual.

yup SX is awesome, but I still get the feeling that something is missing, you know?

I know Almah wants to be onboard... maybe some Tarot, Revamp or Nightwish... And I still think Stratovarius or Edguy could be there, but lets drink and headbang... no point in complaining, I never saw Soilwork live and its one of my favorite bands, its already enough for me :headbanger:

To me the best lineup was in 2012 and last year had the worst. This year seems to shape up to be the second best 70k lineup for me. Well, there's still quite a lot of bands to be added to the lineup, so this might become the best one ever for me.

    So what now? Thoughts?

Is he saving the best 'til last? Not something he has done in previous years - we've always got one or two gems but the last 10 or so announcements last year and the year before were predominantly 'unknowns'.

11, maybe 12 to go - will we get a steady stream over the next 20 days? Or, one or two more then a 'dump' of the rest on the final weekend?

I would hope we at LEAST get a 'kamelot-equivalent' to make up for them no longer being on broad.

Rhapsody of Fire and/or Blind Guardian would be nice.

Well, nothing surprises me anymore with UMC. Announcing Death DTA this late makes no sense, because they would've sold lots of cabins had they been announced early on. So, I have some hope left for Andy to announce Within Temptation for us. Or ReVamp. Or some good death metal bands.

I reckon there will be some good ones to come considering he hasn't followed what he has done in previous years at all. I think there will be some girlie bands and power metal bands to come. Maybe even a massive last minute annoucement considering its the last one on the Majesty of the Seas.

What about any side shows though???? Get Meytal (see youtube) to play drums with Vika as the side show this year :D

BONFIRE (from Munich) - well known in Europe - big success in the 80s - Music sounds great 80 Hard Rock, lots of Hits "Firework" Album
is awesome - catchy. Saw dem 10+ times . Perfect Beer drinking music while cruisin through the carribean :-)
Besides Dark T. the second "must see act" this year...
I´m still missing Power Metal replaces for Kamelot. (Gamma Ray, Astral Doors, Axel Rudi Pell, Blaze, Unisonic, Freedom Call, Hammerfall, Virgin Steele, Stratovarius, Amaranthe, Edguy with old set, ) I really can´t imagine huge acts like Blind Guardian or Nightwish :-( .

I could imagine a Pretty Maids repeat. Would be nice.

Or more Glam Metal (HardCore Superstar, Crazy Lixx uhhh yeah)

I´m still missing Power Metal replaces for Kamelot. (Gamma Ray, Astral Doors, Axel Rudi Pell, Blaze, Unisonic, Freedom Call, Hammerfall, Virgin Steele, Stratovarius, Amaranthe, Edguy with old set, ) I really can´t imagine huge acts like Blind Guardian or Nightwish :-( .

I could imagine a Pretty Maids repeat. Would be nice.

Or more Glam Metal (HardCore Superstar, Crazy Lixx uhhh yeah)

agree 100%, or Brainstorm, Running Wild, Powerwolf, Malice, Crimson Glory, Grim Reaper, Armored Saint & Annihilator :shred:

Maybe there is a ton of people asking for that album.

I think we have only a small sample here at the forum....

I like one of the 4 bands, but that is consistent with my average for the entire line up.
    So on we go.

Even Roxus were heavier than Bonfire and they're AOR Pinup boys.

Andy is a troll, we all know that.

Seriously, though, this announcement was great!
    70K 2013 SURVIVOR (Cabin 2120)
    70K 2014 SURVIVOR (Cabin 2565)

    In perpetual post-cruise depression/pre-cruise anxiety.

Doing my best to be there for 2015.

Ah, maybe just me then. I missed the 80s so I don't remember bands like that.

I know many are disappointed with this years line up, I am definitely not. I was finding the line up more interesting than the 2013 70k one a few announcements ago.

This. Screw the haters of the line up. Fucking carcass and death dta obituary izegrim Novembers doom satyricon overkill. Stoked here.

Exactly. But then that is my opinion, and I wasn't interested in a metal cruise until BTH. If I knew how awesome the metal cruise things was previously though I probably would've done it from the beginning. Definitely digging the heavier announcements, and I am sure fans of last years cruise are not. It seemed the BTH thing kind of lightened 70k last time.
I am very happy with the line up this far. Even with not liking every band. I'd really like to wish for unicorn rainbows and whatnot, but I can't...I am too greedy.
I want Absu. It doesn't seem like they have shows until Feb. 8th.
