I would take either of those. Borknagar moreso.
Right now there is literally one band out of 36 that I'd consider a must-see: Orphaned Land. And they don't even have Yossi, so that probably limits them to playing the same set twice.

I'd be happy with a lesser known power metal band. Or ANY folk metal band.

EDIT: Or, of the rumored bands, Moonspell would be my top choice.

    Kamelot 640,000 Facebook likes, 383,000 Last.fm listeners

Only power metal since they withdrew? Gloryhammer with 18,400 and 5,000 and Freedom Call with 25,000 and 120,000

Neither remotely in the same ballpark as Kamelot.

    Who would be?

    Blind Guardian - 600,000: 580,000
    Stratovarius - 1million: 420,000
    Hammerfall - 660,000: 470,000

Does it really matter if a band has 640.000 likes or 25,000 likes if they are both equally good power metal bands?
There's only 2000 people on the cruise anyway. So i fail to see the relevance.

There's surely got to be just one more heavy hitter, but at this stage of the proceedings, it looks highly doubtful.

The boat desperately needs an Accept or Annihilator type band. Sure i'm happy with Death Angel and Overkill but those dudes actually
    tour Australia.

I want somebody i don't have an arse ends chance of seeing unless it's on the boat.

If we don't get any other great bands, I'll bring some drumsticks and we can play our own set in the Spectrum. Or I'll sing Falconer covers.

It'd be nice to get a solid announcement :-)

I did a really good cover of 'Carnival of Disgust' a few weeks ago that I really need to put on YouTube. I don't consider myself a good singer anymore (used to be okay -- got vocal nodes -- taking medication for it right now that is REALLY helping!) but I played it for my girlfriend and she couldn't tell the difference.

I'm all for creating a makeshift Falconer cover band on broad.

Maybe Andy sells kitchens and this whole metal cruise thing was just a smoke-screen to cover his operations?
    70K 2013 SURVIVOR (Cabin 2120)
    70K 2014 SURVIVOR (Cabin 2565)

    In perpetual post-cruise depression/pre-cruise anxiety.

Doing my best to be there for 2015.

    Ne Obliviscaris is currently recording.

Be'lakor is currently touring Australia with Claim the Throne (WA) + locals. I'll be catching them Friday night before I fly out Saturday morning, can pick you up an overpriced Australian shirt if ya want :P

I actually didn't know who Voyager was.

Karnivool would have probably been up for something like this but they are more hard rock than metal.

Plenty of other good bands over here. In no particular order - Orpheus, Portal, Astriaal, Teramaze, Schoenberg Automation, Darkc3ll, Witchgrinder, Elysian.... Probably all too much of a pain and too unknown to get for something like this.

The Portal band from Australia, are they from Brisbane by chance? And do they dress in suits while playing like 50's gangsters and refer to themselves as "catastrophic death metal"? If so I totally ran in to those guys in Munich back in the day and went on a mega 2-day bender with them. :death: :death:
