How many tickets are actually sold?

    by Chopper » Mon Jun 07, 2010 4:19 pm

How many tickets have been sold and how many tickets/cabins left?
Based on 2000 is a sellout.
There is 459 members in the forum, minus people who did not pay yet, spam and viagra sites, plus the people who are not registered, comes to my guess of 450?

If someone felt like doing the math it could be figured out by looking on the pricing page which shows how many 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroom cabins have sold out so far.

I assume there are many people that are booked but that are not on the forum or are only lurking without becoming a member, so I don't know if the number of members on the forum is an indicator for how many tickets are sold. The Facebook page has almost 5,000 fans, so that also does not mean anything. When you look at the website at the categories that are not sold out, you also don't know if there is 1 cabin left or 50... so it's really hard to tell. I heard someone say it's over 50% sold, don't know how accurate that is, but if that's true and in light of the cruise being still almost 8 months away, that seems to be quite good. My 2c

Just noticed on the pricing page that ALL interior cabins are now sold out. I think there were still some 2-bed interiors left until very recently. Now, we just need the rest of the bands announced, the cruise to be sold out, January 24 to be here, and off we go...weeeeeee! :headbanger:

Weird. I see they added a section called "Best Rate Available" as well.

Wonder if they cheapened things up a bit to get tickets moving again!

That is weird - I think that appeared since I looked at the pricing page earlier today, although I could be wrong. (since I've been listening to Hawkwind most of the day, I've been feeling pretty spacey. )

Yeah, it's been awhile since i have actually looked at that page, but I noticed that right away.

How about they upgrade everybody who has already bought a ticket for free and that wil leave the cheaper cabins open! hahaha. In a perfect world.

reading the fine print on the site would indicate of possibility of such option

and I also know of some people hoping that prices will get slashed towards the end of the year b/f making any move

I was told back in July I think that about half the cabins were reserved

So I was bored before and did a bit of a count.

According to the website all the following are sold out:
    interior 2-7 double/triple/quad
    ocenview 8 double/triple/quad
    junior 10 double/triple

That equates to 574 ROOMS sold out. Not sure exactly how many tickets that equals as I don't know the breakdown between double/triple/quad. But as everything is AT LEAST a double, that's at least 1,148 tickets right there.

    That leaves the following:
    ocean view 2-7
    superior 9
    grand 10

That equates to 608 rooms total (obviously some/many of these will be already sold).

I reckon there are probably only a few hundred tickets left by now :)

I thought it was going to sell out right away. I don't know what number sold we were, but, like TOM CRUISE, my buddy and I booked on like the second available day of this thing.

Guess it didn't make much of a difference in retrospect.

IMHO those few hundred tickets / beds will be very difficult to sell due to price. Those that wanted to be on that boat are already on it and those that are not sure due to line-up or lack of means are certainly not helped by only high dollar cabins remaining. So unles there's is a "huge" band announcement coming up and I don't mean Motorhead there might be some empty cabins.

It's deffinitelly once in a lifetime opportunity and nothing like this has ever happened on this scale. Based on thicket sales I don't see this happening annually.
