    Headliner Bands

    by Chopper » Fri Mar 05, 2010 2:15 am

This is my opinion of the headliners status: based on some facts.

Iron Maiden, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, world tour commitments.
    Dream Theater: possible
    Judas Priest: Good possibility,
    Motorhead: Very good possibility.
Slayer: Very good possibility, already HeadLining in the festival circuit.
    Rammstein: Same as above
Megadeth: Same as above, reunion of past members.
Metallica: Good possibility, already in the festival circuit.
Heaven and Hell: Same as above and would be monumental.
Scorpions: Last world tour before retirement, but kinda fit in the hard rock genre, but Uli Jon Roth is aboard......
Venom: Maybe but would they be a headliner?
    Wasp: Same as above
    Im going to add Opeth

    Please no Motley Crue

Personally i wouldn't want most of those bands as headliners.
I'd imagine Slayer,Metalica,Rammstein and Priesy would all have have quite high fees.
You can probably count them all out.
As for W.A.S.P their status is not as big as it used to be so can probably cross them out as a headliner.
I'd imagine Saxon are one of the headliners especially when you consider they are playing special shows.

Man... I didn't though about the headliner yet. But any of those bands would be nice.

I would also mention Ozzy. But I'm not sure how is his agenda.

Ozzy? He is as much of a corporate whore as you can get. I don't think he will show as they are not selling shoes.

You know you are a superstar when you stop selling beer and start selling shoes.

And F#$% Sharon Osbourne for re-recording the bass and drums and remixing Diary and Blizzard to spite Lee Kerslake and Bob Daisley of a royalty dispute. What is next, spray paint the Mona Lisa? That would get her another spot on Oprah.

    Ozzy is dead friends.

I always hated Ozzy to be honest. One of the worst singers i ever heard in my life.
To me he was jsut in the right place at the right time.He didn't even write his own lyrics with Sabbath. He did no work at all and now he's Sueing Iomi trying to claim it was him who made them sucessful as opposed to their music they wrote.
Says he helped them out of the gutter.Kind funny considering he was the one who dragged the band into the ground in the first place.
If i ever meet him i would punch him.
I am so glad that Black Sabbath are back working with Dio who is one of the best singers out there. Not to mention when he's in a band he acts like a professional and doesn't get lazy and say ah fuck this i'm not bothered turning up at my show today.

They held the Ozzfest one year in Dublin. So many people all came to it to see Ozzy and then later that night they lied and said he was sick but everyone knows that he just wasn't bothered coming to Ireland.

I hate ozzy as well and if he was on board and sharon was on board, there would be a cnn report of a missing manager/promoter.......

I will NEVER forgive that XXNT for what she did and said to/about Maiden in '05. Throw raw/rotten eggs at them and called them names. What is this, high school. The osbournes are disgusting and vile creatures.

But I do like the first 3 Ozzy Solo albums and the stuff he did with Sabbath- Esp Never Say Die!

As far as I was told, by someone at UM Cruises, the headliners haven't even been announced yet. So with that in mind, let the speculation continue...

Wouldn't mind seeing Dethklok play (Gene rules of course), but in the real world they are not the 12th largest economy, hence they don't have the clout for headlining status.

And yes, Black Sabbath, er, I mean Heaven and Hell would be the shit. Really depends on Ronnie's state of health in the coming months, although I hear he's doing well with the chemo :)

I saw them on both tours. The first one was BRUTAL. I'm talking about the entire first floor of the venue acted as the pit. People were taken out on stretchers......The second time was still enjoyable because it's fuckin' Dethklok. But they didn't really update their show. Sure the 2-3 songs off the new album had 'new' videos. ('new' because they didn't exist for the first tour.) But everything else was exactly the same.

For those that don't know, their shows have a bit of a story . There's a few videos that continue it, then some that are addressing the audience and talk about metal concerts, then a music video for every song......The bonus disc for Dethalbum II should give you a good idea about it.

Heaven And Hell would be REALLY great, indeed! We just need to hope Dio gets completely healthy soon :)
And I see no problem in joke bands, they're fun! We can have ONE joke headliner, the problem would be if all of them would be jokes!

I am so damn thrilled with the lineup as it is, and this is just torture. No complaints on any of those bands, though obviously I am rooting heartily for Priest and Heaven and Hell.

I have no idea if someone like Slayer would be too high for this type of thing, I would expect they would fetch a large amount of money. Plus they are easy to see everywhere else, so it would feel like a waste.

I think something along the lines of Testament and Exodus would be what they probably will get. Bands that are high in credibility status, but wouldn't require a ton of money to acquire.

I haven't seen Testament in years, so would love to see them. Exodus would be great if Zetro was singing, but that's not gonna happen. Heck, I'd love to see Candlemass if Messiah came back. But that's not happening either. Same goes with Fleming & Artillery.

Damn, I'm freaking cursed when it comes to lead singers in bands these days. Each of them were so good and unique that their replacements pale in comparison.

Sooooo hopefully they announce Morbid Angel, Opeth & Testament as 3 of the headliners. Get Katatonia as well. Since Mickael , Martin, Anders & Jonas are onboard, you can announce Bloodbath. All you would have to do is fly Swano or Sodomizer in (whichever is available). OR get Hypocrisy & Peter could play 2nd guitar and do vocals on his Bloodbath songs. If you get Swano you can arrange for both shows to play Crimson I & II in their entirety.

See, how logical and easy is that ?

Candlemass with Rob Lowe the SHIT beyond SHIT. AMAZING. Last two Candlemass albums totally kill. Seen them twice with Lowe and Twice with Messiah.

Testament and/or Exodus are hardly "headliner worthy" in my opinion.

I am leaning towards Scorpions or Motorhead as one of the headliners.

    And I hope I am right. :)

I won't say the last 2 Candlemass albums are bad. KOTGI is actually pretty good, much bettter than Hammer of Doom. HOD is a good doom album it's jsut not Candlemass. KOTGI was written with Messiah while he was in the band, so it had a better vocal flow. But neiter album matches the comeback album with Messiah. His voice is too good and distinct that he really does not have a replacement.

Again Rob Lowe is not bad, but he just sounds too normal and American for my tastes.

I hope Scorpions is not a headliner. That would be a waste for me. Tom Cruise may be "Rocked by a Hurricane" but I won't.

The last Candlemass album is called "Death, Doom, Magic" and its amazing. The song "Hammer of Doom" is the best song they have written in 20 years.

hey Metalwrath- Agreed bro. TANKARD! A band that has never sold out and put out weak albums as Testament and Exodus have!! American thrash I would opt for Avenger of Blood from Las Vegas or Megadeth (But that would never happen, new Deth album is amazing, no matter how hard I hate that fucker Mustained)

That's right, Hammer of Dom was the original named until they had to change it (there was some festival named that and they claimed some copyright nonsense).

It's hard for me to listen to Lowe because all I think is "this would sound so much better with Messiah". :D

It's hard for me to listen to Lowe because all I think is "this would sound so much better with Messiah". :D

yeah thats cool, I actually prefer the original singer from Epicus Doom Metalicus and then Lowe after that. I am huge Solitude Aeturnus fan. Rob Lowe is really cool, I met him at Hole in the Sky in Norway last August and he was begging me to keep him company in the VIP lounge because I was a "fellow american"
