Man, I hate religion as much as any self respecting atheist should but only a real douchebag would burn down a church, especially an old historic one at that. Gotta appreciate the history and architecture of such an old building.

I totally agree with you, Junkhead. (especially since I'm an architecture history junkie - hey - I need a smiley looking in awe at a cool building ) The Norwegian church burnings are similar in my mind to when the Taliban destroyed the 1500 year old colossal Buddha statues in Bamyan, Afhganistan because they were considered "idols" - what a waste.

Back to music....I love so many Norwegian bands and would be thrilled with any of the following on the cruise...Borknagar, Dimmu Borgir (I just read they are coming out with a new album this fall - yay!), Emperor (well, Ihsahn now), Enslaved, Immortal, Kampfar, Leaves Eyes, Satyricon, Theatre of Tragedy (aren't they on a "farewell tour" now though?), Tristania, Ulver and 1349. Bring on the Norwegians!

I spoke with Blake yesterday and they are working on the credit card issue....The reason they are holding off on putting payments thru is to save each credit card holder (you) money for charges they are disputing with them....this is what I understand....so never fear...its for the best...

my wife is good friends with Gene's sister Lisa and we will see her at a Bellydance gig in Long Beach this weekend. I will see if we can get any inside info about the possibility of Gene showing w/ Fear Factory or any other band.

I have to admit, the organizers have done a pretty amazing job of keeping most officially unreleased info hidden from the masses. I expect that any artists that have been booked but not announced have something in their contract that discourages them from revealing their acceptance of a slot prior to official announcements.

Just a thought but, Nymphet's friend probably doesn't have any info one way or another and, if she does, you might be putting her in a somewhat awkward spot just by asking her to share it with ya.

With nevermore coming on tour here in the fall though, I'm not rooting for them on the cruise as much (though it certainly would be a treat to see them twice in a few months.. haven't seen them live since gigantour 1!!)

Gene is actually a friend of mine and he hadn't heard of the metal cruise until the weekend before last when i was chatting with him. i told him he should get one of his bands on it and that i would be his bodyguard LOL cuz he needs one.

anyway i DREAM of Devy on this! Zimmer's Hole would be awesome but perhaps too obscure compared to the other bands being booked. I sure hope they grab Devy though...

This reminds me of something I was thinking about the other day... I wonder if there will be other metal luminaries on board, not playing with their band, but just taking a metal vacation like the rest of us. I'm sure there has got to be a couple!
