    Running Order Predictions

    by Malaka » Sat Jan 04, 2014 5:59 am

Just sticking with the confirmed acts, here's somewhat of a guideline for what I would expect as far as a running order. I may be way off, so don't lynch me just yet. Plus there's still 15-17 bands to announce.

Morning Pool Deck: Victory, Xandria, Death Angel, Izegrim
Afternoon Pool Deck: Cripper, Orphaned Land, Soilwork, Leaves Eyes, Raven
Headlining Pool Deck: Fear Factory, Carcass, Overkill, Symphony X, TBA, TBA
Late night Pool Deck: Vicious Rumors, Satyricon, The Haunted, D.R.I., Haggard, TBA

Anytime in Spectrum Lounge: Izegrim, Rising Storm, Septicflesh, Swallow The Sun, Dark Tranquillity, The Church of Pungent Stench, Victory, Xandria, Death Angel, Cripper, Orphaned Land, D.R.I., Obituary, Finntroll, Haggard, TBA.

Afternoon Chorus Line: Swallow The Sun, The Haunted, Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork
Headlining Chorus Line: Fear Factory, Carcass, Satyricon, Overkill, Symphony X
Late night Chorus Line: Septicflesh, The Church of Pungent Stench, Obituary, Finntroll, Raven, Vicious Rumors

Haggard wouldn't fit in the Spectrum Lounge  I'm expecting a similar setup to Rage with LMO for them. 2 Chorus Line sets.

Yeah, me too. A pool deck Haggard show would be great, but I'm not sure the acoustic would work as well.

Dark Tranquillity in the Spectrum? Absolutely not.

They were a Pool Deck/Chorus Line band last time and will be again.

My prediction is Death Angel will be the first band to play. They're an energetic band and a good start to the fest. Plus they play better when not hung over, not that they won't be, but less chance.
2015 wishlist: Mercyful Fate, Meliah Rage, Agalloch, Anathema, Armored Saint, Warlock, Sahg, Labyrinth, Incantation, Accept, Savatage, Goatwhore, Satan, Bolt Thrower, Tad Morose, Krokus, TT Quick, Eldritch

Yeah they would be a good band to start off with. Maybe let someone have a 45 minute in the spectrum then have them get an hour in the theater right after, like Helstar and Sabaton last year.

Yeah! So if we could have Raven and death angel for example in the same fashion it would be a good start!

Yeah. Unless we get a bigger power metal name, which I guess would replace SX. Otherwise, this seems about right.

I know you guys love your Symphony X but they are not as big as:

Carcass / Fear Factory / Death To All / Overkilll (Tier A)

    Symphony X / The Haunted / Dark Tranquillity / Soilwork / Obituary (Tier B)

Satyricon / Death Angel / Cynic / Finntroll / Swallow the Sun / Orphaned Land (Tier C)

Fintroll / Satryicon could be Tier B.

Every other band is VERY small potatoes in the U.S.

No. Overkill and FF were both Tier B on previous cruises - I don't think their standing would have risen for any reason so they will be 60 minute sets.

Symphony X are a heavily requested band - four times more requests for them to be on 2014 compared to FF and Overkill.

Finntroll - definitely Tier B. They were last time, and have a recent successful album out.

And considering 70% of the people on the cruise are NOT from the US - small potatoes in the US means nothing as far as 70k billing is concerned.

I think our 'murrican forumites may struggle with this new concept, but there is a "rest of the world" outside the borders. And it has a lot of people!

There are usually only 2-3 bands that have sets over 60 min, yes?

Carcass will be 1. Death To All will be 2. Maybe Fear Factory since they are doing a special Demanu set.

Symphony X would play BEFORE Kamelot in the U.S. and Kamelot is a 60 min band on this cruise. I agree Overkill is as well, but Overkill are bigger than Symphony X. Come on. Symphony X = Sabaton

I sense an American football/football vs football/soccer conversation coming....and improper discussions on World War II.

Symphony X probably will have a 60 minute set, since I am least excited about them being on board.
