Great ship with the hot tubs hanging out at the side of the ship, i would be worried about people falling over bord ;-)

I just hope with 60 bands on bord the will extend the cruise for at least one more day, otherwise i can imagine it will be very stressful if you want to see a lot of the bands.
And the disembarking on the stop over will be faster, as this year with the Mayan ruins and the delay with the travel, we had no time to have even just a short look at the shops at Costa Maya. We've been hearded of to the ship instantly after the return from the ruins.

    Quad cabins:
Only interior and deck 2-3 ocean view have four separate beds. Quad suites, balcony and deck 6-9 ocean view have twin beds (can be converted to one queen size bed) plus a double bed fold out couch.

I may be spending a little bit too much time looking up LotS info

This is metioned every year. Royal Caribbean will still book people for those dates. Those people that book will get bumped to a new date or offered some kind of refund. Nothing to worry about.

UMC still has to secure a loan to sign a contract for the Liberty.I also imagine that some big name bands have to be confirmed for opening announcements. The last two 70k cruises where always blacked out and the Majesty is still blacked out for our normal dates.Taking the Majesty out of commission is alot cheaper than the Liberty and I imagine a bunch of numbers have to be added up before anything can be done. That being said RC will fill the ship up to a certain point and the call UMC with a "put up or shut up" date.RC will not toss off the higher end customers who use the Liberty ,the Majesty is the old ship and that is why they didn't mind bumping a few cheap cruisers.

I could be wrong but I don't remember any previous cruise being blacked out this early in the year. I certainly remember some concern being raised in the past about this sort of conflict.

Regardless of the workings between RC and UMC (not sure where you're getting your info from about needing to secure loans and whatnot - maybe it was mentioned in the press conference or something), I'm not worried at all.

Boat is unavailable now for January 22th date so ,something has been agreed to by RC.Booking has to start as early as UMC can announce some big confirms. This is a big boat ,I expect something by March 17th.

Interesting blurb about Ocho Rios from a customer review of the LOTS. (just ignore the stuff about kids)

Ocho Rios Jamaica – The big attractions in Ocho Rios is Dunns River Falls and snorkeling tours. During previous trips to this port we have climbed the Falls and it is a great trip to do but not with kids. After consulting a couple staff members on board who were from Jamaica we decided to just walk to the beach that was located right in front of the boat. It was clean, convenient and perfectly priced at just 2.50 per adult and 1.25 per child. The water was calm, it wasn’t too busy and there weren’t a lot of canvassers looking to sell goods. As a bonus we were able to get a beautiful shot of the ship while the kids played in the water.
Note: Do not purchase any shells from the locals as the ship will take them from you when you board.

Hopefully we'll get a full 8 hours in port this time.

The theater (decks 2-4 forward) and Studio B (deck 2-3 midship) both have their entrances on deck 3, but since Studio B divides deck 3 in two and the entrance is from the aft, you have to go via deck 2 or 4 if you want to get from one of these stages to the other.
This also applies if you want to get from a 32xx or 35xx cabin to a 33xx or 36xx cabin or vice versa.

Yay moving on out of the shoe box!!! It will definitely be nice to have a bit more space. Not that I spend much time in my room but it will be appreciated.

Disaster Area wrote:Interesting blurb about Ocho Rios from a customer review of the LOTS.

That doesn't sound too bad (the beach part).

I never managed to find my way to the sauna on the Majesty, so anyone who did go; how was it? I remember one of the Finns complaining about it being way too cool in there and having no buckets in the sauna for pouring water on the kiuas (what do you call it in English, a stove or a heater?). Is that true?

If (and it's a strong if) I decide to go, seems I won't be spending any time watching the bands, so I would have plenty of time to relax in the sauna. And a proper sauna needs to be over (or at least close to) 80 degrees Celsius and you need to be able to pour water on the kiuas to get some nice steam in there. Oh, and another thing, can you take beer(s) with you in the sauna?

Never looked for or found the one on the Majesty so can't confirm but can say that we have many saunas here in Canada that are electric and don't require/allow water poured over them. Not sure which type they have onbroad though :?

Most saunas we have are electric too, and yes, it's perfectly ok to pour water over them. It's no use to just sit in a hot room, you need the scorching hot steam too.

Seeing how the Liberty was built in Finland gives me hope of there being a proper sauna.

Oh, it should be illegal to call a warm room a sauna. :beerwink:

The theater will have less sideways motion since it's lower in the ship than on the Majesty, but more up and down motion since it's farther forward. Studio B/ice rink should be the most steady stage so far, since it's low and center in the ship.
Curious to see where the last stage ends up. Hopefully somewhere with higher ceiling than Spectrum so they can raise the stage a bit more off the floor.

    Ahhh nice!
Great for when we get on board the first two days.

Might be funny to watch someone hammered trying to navigate that.

Being that I spent most of this year's cruise fighting a cold, I took some time to find the sauna, which turned out to be a steam room; no temperature control, no 'water over hot rocks', nothing like that... just a small room with some benches and steam.
Also, there were separate rooms for guys and gals - no co-ed. They were located in the gym/spa portion of the ship (deck above Spectrum).

Just thought I'd throw that out there for ya!

Just watched the video of the first post and it looks very interesting. Quite sure I will be lost somewhere at a time  As I never go outside cause of the wind - too dangerous as I can fall down  -, I checked particularly the plan of the deck 14, where there is a view of the pool deck and the stage I suppose :headbanger: I would be curious to know where I will be able to have a good view on the stages in the other places  Wouldn't like to miss to see my favourite bands on the different stages  The biggest question will be how I will manage the ride between the stages in a short time, I will certainly to have to miss the end of some shows to be in time for the next one

I really hope they do an excellent job of organizing when the bands play. I too am concerned about getting around without having to miss parts of sets. I really hope that since there are so many more bands and more stages it wont get too complicated. I guess we will find out SOOOOOOON

does anyone know if the soda package will be available

on the first and second cruise, you could get a soda-pass for like $ 24.- with which you could include soda drinks on the free drink list
was this also available on 3rd 4th cruise?
