family friendly- 70000 tons of metal

    by rflores » Fri Jun 20, 2014 11:05 am

I wanted to create a new post from my experience in 70000tons of metal cruise 2013 & 2014 with my daughter (baby janeth), youngest cruiser on board. As many parents here i have a passion for metal music and like any one else i needed my little vacation; better yet metal vacation with my daughter. i want other cruisers to know that it is ok to take family its not just for people that like to party and get drunk 24 hrs..
first year i went on my own with my daughter (1 years old) and a friend. i got to enjoy all of the shows i could same as rest of cruisers i got to see pool deck shows at night from the top atrium and baby was just fine! chorus line shows i sat in very back and enjoyed as much as i could. overall first year whent greater than expected.

    Image

turks and coacos -we got to spend time on beach like everyone else did and even had time to swim and relax with rest of the metalheads!!

second year went even better with baby janeth (now 2 years old) and a cousin which helped me out allot with her.

we got to enjoy more of the boat, majesty of seas had toys for her to keep while on board. she got to see shows and enjoyed them as much as i did. we whent to meet and greets like the rest, enjoyed the buffet and all the food they had, ran to pool deck and saw all shows we could.. saw all the bands i wanted to see and everything whent great!! it was just an amazing time enjoying this experience with my daughter, i would have regreted to leaver her behind and not enjoy all of this amazing vacation in 70000tons of metal !!

baby janeth having an amazing time at costa maya with the rest of the metal heads :

overall I hope people dont think of this cruise as not being family friendly, specially with new boat that has water fountains for kids, more activitys on board, allot of things to do and most of all.. 60 metal bands to see and enjoy!! :trashdrink: :headbanger:

A convincing argument for bringing Baby Metal on board?

I think it depends on the kid's temperament whether or not this would be a good thing for them, but she looks happy. Only thing I'd say is I hope you put earplugs in her sensitive little ears, but I'm sure you did.

I did not see any kids on any of the UMC cruises. But my first cruise the Simple Man Cruise 2008 there were a lot of people who brought the whole family along. :)

Baby Janeth always gives me a smile. You would think the loud sausagefest would freak her out, but she just goes with the flow!

    Well done Momma! xx

Thanks for posting! We're probably not bringing our boys (5 and 7 years old) in 2015, but in subsequent years, I suspect we will.
