Looks like Savatage is having a reunion show at Wacken next year! Maybe they could do a warm-up/vacation after TSO show on the ship! That would be the bees knees!

I doubt it, as they probably have a deal with Wacken to not play any gigs before their official reunion gig.
2016 on the other hand might be possible.

Having Savatage on the ship would definitely be the greatest addition to the lineup IMO, might have to go to Wacken just for this.

Been a fan of Savatage for over 20 years, closest I've ever got to seeing them live was Zach and Circle II Circle belting out some zack-era Savatage tunes on 70000 Tons.

I would LOVE them on broad, but its been mentioned on multiple occasions before that its highly doubtful Jon would ever do a cruise.

I have yet to see Circle II Circle nor Jon Olivia and the closest thing to Savatage I have seen in the past 13 years is Johnny and Al in TSO which does Savatage songs once in a while...therefore...seeing them back together for me would be huge!

Any guesses about who's on the line-up(s) or what the setlists will be? I imagine Savatage/TSO will have the same 6 core members that appeared on the latest Savatage records (Jon Oliva, Zakk Stevens, Al Pitrelli, Chris Caffery, Johnny Lee Middleton, Jeff Plate) and maybe a few guest appearances from Paul O'Neil and Bob Kinkel. I hope they dedicate one of their sets to playing Hall Of The Mountain King in its entirety.

Hall of the Mountain King set was done 2 years ago by Jon Oliva's Pain at Bang Your Head to commemorate 25 years of the album. Since Wacken is advertising TSO show followed by Savatage Reunion I'm still a bit sceptical that it'll be 90 minutes of TSO followed by 30 minutes or less of Savatage. Reminds me of the "TSO concert at Brandenburg Gates in Berlin for New Years". It turned out it wasn't a concert but an 8 minute medley. That being said, I stayed up till 3 am in hopes of getting Wacken tickets

TSO usually does a 3 month tour in North America from October - early January. Many days they are doing two shows a night. I can't see them finish that up & want to hop on the cruise a few weeks later. I'm guessing they want to take a long break. They would also not have much time to practice whatever Savatage show they are doing. Not a lot of time to rehearse with the travel time & performing twice a day related to TSO. I also think the members we are thinking might be involved are split between the 2 different TSO touring entities in North America.

That is what I was thinking. They will do a full TSO set and follow up with a short Savatage set. Hopefully we are wrong. I also hope you got your Wacken tickets. 12 hour sellout, I think.

If Savatage does do a show somewhere in the US, I would try to catch that. If not, I have seen Savatage 6 times (and also the ProgPower Weapons of Mass Destruction set). I have those memories.

I agree that this is what will most likely happen. The "reunion" could also end up being an extended TSO encore.

TSO and Savatage both will play their 70 minutes set in Wacken next year....an i am happy to assist.
saw Savatage some 15 times an twice TSO, a very big highlight in 2015.
well, hope to have Savatage on board for the 2016 cruise as well.

I have never seen any Savatage related bands except for Trans Siberian Orchestra once, so I would happily take any type of Savatage-ish set and would probably see it twice.

I am also thinking there will be a North American show sometime after the Wacken show. I'd guess it might be in the Tampa area.

Savatage and Running Wild are doing reunions at Wacken.
Though i'd love to see them on the cruise i suspect that booking either of these reunions is gonna be quite expensive.
Then as has been said they may have contractual obligations not to play any festivals besides Wacken that year.
Although technically 70k is a cruise and not a festival as such so there may be a loophole to play the cruise too XD

Where did you read/hear that? This is from the Wacken site:

"Trans-Siberian Orchestra will be performing live on stage at Wacken 2015, followed immediately by a Savatage reunion gig, that also marks their first live performance in over a decade. Furthermore, these will be the only live appearances of both bands in Europe in 2015!"

Also, it reads like it may be nothing more then an extended TSO encore with Savatage taking place immediately after TSO.

Christopher Kinder (JOP drummer) went on the cruise twice and he really wanted to do it with JOP or Jon Oliva storyteller tour but Jon doesn't want anything to do with cruise ship. There is still a chance of it happening but it is slim to none. I really hate to be the dream breaker and i would go on the cruise for Savatage alone
