In fact, this whole subforum could be condensed into 4 threads only:
1) This one
2) Wish lists
3) Speculation
4) #SurvivorAsk, win a chance to interview a band that’s guaranteed not to play here anytime soon.

SWALLOW THE SUN will be playing the Theater at 19:30.
Ron, send me your sound file, I’ll put it as my phone ringtone, just for the random adrenaline rush
Yea, not sure what happened with Vomitory. I saw the issue and fixed it in the data file and now things seem normal.deathmetalpat wrote: ↑Fri Aug 31, 2018 11:13 am 2nd that on Vomitory ,I got 5 spaced out over time.Android version.
So in this case saying "cobbler's children have no shoes" is ok? Anyway, thanks for the quick fix for some of us!slayergeek wrote: ↑Fri Aug 31, 2018 12:32 pmIn the mean time, if you are among the apparent minority that is not getting push notifications..know that the creator of this thing is in the same boat...so incentive to fix will not be an issue :)
Yea I fired up my Android phone a bit ago and saw that issue. It is now fixed
Yea in snuck back in somehow. I have cleaned it up again, but if it happen again I will need to work on a fix on the automated data collector if it keep adding those extra carriage returns in.
Not sure, another thing to investigate.
Yea, the URLs should always be set to Default unless you are doing some special testing for me. Delete and re-install the app. I saw the Black Dahlia thing (the data file for two entries) and fixed it in the data file. Not sure what was going on there.Godflesh wrote: ↑Fri Aug 31, 2018 6:22 pm I got two notifications for BDM on my iPad, with the default sound.
None so far on my iPhone with the reinstalled app.
EDIT: On my IPhone, the URLs in the app settings are set to DropBox. They were set to Default before the reinstall. That might explain the delay.
I probably won’t be able to hear the notification, because I’m FINALLY LISTENING TO NEW BANDS!!!
Yea, it tries to save the old settings (and band preferences) so not surprising
I also got two notifications on my phone. What I noticed is that Coroner didn't appear in the band list on the app until I got the second one.
Ok, I have made some tweaks to the code that does the automatic announcements and this 'should' fix the issues encountered. Especially the issue we saw with Vomitory. There were some carriage returns in places where there were not the last few years. These were easy to strip out and we should be good now. This should also fix the issue where Android users were seeing an empty band slot at the top of the display.
Still not working, so after reinstalling I switched to last year and back, which properly set the defaults, so hopefully it will work now.
Not that I am aware of. I am getting notifications on my Samsung Galaxy S8 and most Android users are reporting no issues with alerts. If I can reproduce the issue or get any kind of clue as to where the issue is, I will be all over this.

I also have an older HTC phone, that when I powered on after being offline for a few months, lit up with all the alerts that have been going out.
I am using a google service to send out the alerts, and I have heard that if the Google Play service are not on the phone, these will not work. Most Android phones included these by default, but I understand that some don't. Not sure if that is what is going on not, but here is an article that explains what 'might' be happening.

Seems like that there is a mistake in translation with the icons or something?
Beer -> "Ja" -> yes
Green -> "Vielleicht" -> maybe
Red -> "Nein" -> no
or should it be like this and it was my wrong interpretation? ;o
