So pretty much as expected. Biggest personal surprise was Arch Enemy, which I was expecting to watch twice but in the end I didn't catch a single song due to overlappings. Also I wasted more time than expected in Apocalyptica, which were quite disappointing to me.

I completely missed Melechesh and Einherjer who I wanted to see. I though Apocalyptica was terrible with that garbage pop vocalist. A dark/doom/gothic vocalist would make them listenable again. Best of the cruise to me was Therion, they were amazing.

Some factors can explain: the pooldeck stage debacle, the Alestorm Sunday morning debacle and the fact that some bands I would have seen were planned for 4 or 5 AM! I am not a fan of having 60 bands instead of 40.

Biggest surprises for me - not catching either Amorphis set, and not being able to see both Alestorm sets.

Even though I've seen both bands numerous times, I would have thought beforehand that was 4 sets guaranteed, not 1!

Other than that the 60 bands didn't impact me greatly as I wasn't a huge fan of the lineup. If it had a few more power metal bands and a few female fronted bands like Nightwish, Revamp, Kalidia, Amaranthe, etc I probably would be singing a different tune though.

As stated by a few people above, counting a set if I was there for at least a few songs (3/4 in my book). If I watched a song & left, I didn't count it.

I know there were some bands I wanted to see that I missed to to scheduling. I saw some bands I didn't plan to also. I think it happens every year.

Looking at previous years i usually catch at least 1 set from each band or at least a couple of tunes.

10 bands on average are solid right through two setters.

I think a lot of catching up was done with people who haven't been on the cruise since the first 2.Also the layout of the ship sucked for getting around to see bands along with the fact that people had to keep going back to the bars to get drink.Not a single booze waiter to be seen in a cruise full of thirsty people.
I think personally thats the cruises loss.they would have sold a lot more booze if they had staff going around like they did on the previous ship.
Even the first year of the other ship they had this and by end of those 4 days the waiters even knew who'd need a regular top up XD
