    Zimmer's Hole! :shred:

    Soooo Stoked!!! :headbanger: :headbanger: :headbanger:

Never got into them but maybe I should give another listen. SYL still gets regular play.

Yeah, they're a different beast with The Heathen at the helm and the lyrics tend towards a bit more of a twisted/comedic and maybe even immature perspective but they're a shitload of fun live and one can hardly go wrong with Simon, Stroud n Hoglan cranking things up :shred:
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

Strapping Young Lad is probably my second favourite band (after Pantera) that broke up and I never saw live.

To have a Strapping Young Lad reunion for the cruise... speachless.

Zimmer's Hole would be fun to see also or Devin Townsend Project, or both... and then since they are all there why not throw in SYL!!!!

I've gone through all the announcement times for 2016, making sure I adjusted the day to be Vancouver time as they are 18 hours behind Brisbane time.

So the days for 43 band announcements so far (43 not 45, because we had the Twilight Force/Abinchova/Painful announcement):

    SUNDAY - Nil
    MONDAY - Nil
    TUESDAY - 4
    WEDNESDAY - 11
    THURSDAY - 13
    FRIDAY - 14
    SATURDAY - 1

Being literally only days away now could mean things change, but so far the only announcement we've got on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday has been Belphegor on the 1st of August.

So yeah, yesterday and the day before I was anxiously awaiting/expecting an announcement or five, now not so much.

UMC is too busy shutting down Tsjuder's unofficial 70K merch sales to announce anything. It's not like we're less than two weeks away from sailing or anything.

JAMMING WITH WATERS IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS Returns!

    by Andy » Sat Jan 23, 2016 11:07 pm

    Image

    #SuperMetalSunday happens in 2 weeks!

Jamaica will be in behind us, but we will keep the party going strong all the way back to Florida with plenty of concerts, Artist clinics, The World Famous 7000TONS Bellyflop Contest, Karaoke under the Stars... and of course, we will be airing the "Big game" at the On Air Club on Deck 3 for those of you who love #Football as much as you love Metal.

Also part of #SuperMetalSunday: the return of JAMMING WITH WATERS IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS!

Hosted by Jeff Waters of ANNIHILATOR, the official 70000TONS OF MEATL All Star Jam writes Heavy Metal History each year on board The World's Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise when a spectacular line up of musicians from all of your favorite bands on board team up to perform classic Metal Anthems for you!

Check out the Special Onboard Events page for video of last year's Jam!

Which musicians do you hope to see in this year's JAMMING WITH WATERS IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS?

What songs would you like them to play?

I want to hear the All Star Jam go Country.

Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, Hank Williams (senior - not junior!). Maybe a bit of Shania Twain.

Actually, what I want, IS THE REST OF THE FRAKKING LINEUP!!! :bitch: :bitch: :bitch: :bitch: :bitch:

I'm kinda expecting the all-star-jam to have a lot of Lemmy/Motorhead material; if it does, they should include Hawkwind's "Silver Machine" too.

Good news for jamming with waters.
But; "which musicians do you want ?" ; well, as we still miss 15bands i consider this offensive.

I don't want to hear "ace of spades"; it's too much covered all around the world. Why not "overkill", "stay clean", "deaf forever", "we are the road crew" ? It would change so much.

I want to hear nick holmes singing venom !

Metal and Onbroad are spelled incorrectly.

How are people to be excited for the All Star Jam when we don't have all of our stars?

At least now I know what's going to be going on when I'm watching Superbowl

I don't want to hear "ace of spades"; it's too much covered all around the world. Why not "overkill", "stay clean", "deaf forever", "we are the road crew" ? It would change so much.

I want to hear nick holmes singing venom !

I know it's not happening, but this is my favorite jam on Overkill: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3QCSjlJPFs

Ace of Spades was my first Motorhead song and probably why I didn't get into them right away. I'm not crazy about that song, but Overkill is bad ass. So much jam.

To the people above talking about Zimmers Hole, I literally just heard of them a month ago and am sad that I didn't discover them sooner. I've been a big SYL fan for awhile. I didn't know they are still doing any shows, but I'd love it if those guys got on the ship.

As for the Super Bowl stuff... ah crap, I liked hanging out in that bar while waiting for ice rink shows, but now it's gonna be an obstacle to get around. An obstacle of people just standing around staring at screens.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people on the boat will be checking in on the game during that night. Super Bowl here is such a big deal. It's basically like a national holiday.

Does that mean Jeff Waters is on the ship? Does that mean Annihilator would play and break the no two years in a row rule????

    I sure hope so :shred:

I think he is just going to be onboard having fun with us until the all star jam. I wouldn't mind seeing Annihilator again, but I don't think that is going to happen, but with Andy..you never know.

Awww, I know that they miss losing the big game. They try so hard to get there every year, just for that. :P

I hate to disappoint you, but the short answer is no. Other then Jed, I don’t really talk to those guys anymore. A lot of fans are upset that there won’t be a reunion and that I’m not doing Strapping anymore, but I can’t spend anymore energy apologizing. I feel I have progressed as an artist and have moved on from that stage in my career.

I've seen him answer that way for more than a dozen interviews over the years. Not only will it never happen, he's so sick of people asking him about it that he barely even cares to answer the question. SYL will never happen with Devin. Ever.

Sorry to be that guy, I liked the SYL years too.

10 days to go. Breaking down how things went last year

10 days to go - Enthroned
09 days to go - Trouble
07 days to go - Anvil, The Hate Colony, Gama Bomb, Suborned, Claim The Throne, Monstrosity
06 days to go - Whiplash
04 days to go - Soulfly
    03 days to go - Riot V
02 days to go - Corrosion of Conformity, Adaliah, Dark Sermon, Gurd, Exhumer
01 day to go - Helstar
01 day to go - Wintersun

So we are still not quite as bad as last year hahaha. BUT - no announcements yet for 2016 on a Sunday or Monday, and only 4 on a Tuesday so if we don't get anything by Wednesday which is highly possible, it will be as bad as last year :P

I wouldn't worry about the day of the week at this point. Tomorrow starts the last full week before we leave, I would think we are going to see daily activity. I'm sure no one expected the random post at midnight last night. :)
