I find it interesting that there are so many 2015 repeats this early in the announcement process. We have Amorphis, Annihilator and Therion already (3 out of the 7 bands announced so far).

Last year we only had two repeat bands from the cruise two years previous (2014) out of the entire lineup of 60. And Raven and Novembers Doom weren't added to the lineup until fairly late in the game (both were added in the weeks leading up to cruise).

BTW I wasn't on in 2015... so in no way, shape or form am I complaining....Super excited to have Amorphis on broad!! And there are definitely a few other bands from 2015 that I wouldn't mind seeing in this years lineup.

Definitely huge. SURPRISINGLY, at least as far as last.fm listeners go (820,000) and facebook likes (2.6million) - no where near the biggest band in those terms anyway that has been on 70k.

Haven't analysed fully, but I imagine it would be hard to find anyone bigger, PURELY on last.fm and facebook figures, than Nightwish.

Stupid question but when you paid by credit card do you just pay UMC now?In other words you don't deal with anything like Moneybookers ,where you set up an entire freaking account for one purchase.

You pay UMC.... BUT the transaction is handled as a foreign CC transaction (for U.S. folks) and you get dinged pretty hard on the foreign transaction fee.
You can also pay by bank wire; UMC will eat the fee.

Anthrax is older, yes. How many movies of their own they have? As for appearing on sitcoms, well, I've never seen them on any European sitcom. They might be bigger in the U.S., but, you know, there are these other chunks of land on the planet where they're a rather small name. Anthrax wasn't a headliner at Tuska this year, which isn't even a big festival.
Not trying to offend the trash metal fans, but just because a band has been playing the same few songs for a decade or four doesn't make them big or popular. I've been following the metal scene for around thirty years now, and I can't name any Anthrax songs off the top of my head.

Although I'm an Anthrax fan and can't stand Nightwish, it seems Nightwish is the bigger band. Even in NYC, Anthrax's home territory, Nightwish play clubs just as big as those Anthrax plays. Further, Wikipedia (take it for what it's worth) says Anthrax has sold 10M records and Nightwish have sold 8M. Given Nightwish accomplished that over shorter career span, at a time when metal is only an underground genre, and during a time when sales are harder to come by, it's hard to say Nightwish isn't the bigger band.
