If you have registered with the crown and anchor then yes you will be entitled to a robe (and no you cannot keep it ), as you would have enough points to be Platinum.
You get a point for each night sailed, so with this being the 8th 70k ---> 32 points.
30+ points = Platinum

He would have to wait until the 2019 cruise then. You get your points awarded after your cruise finishes. 7 70Ks completed = 28 points. I got the platinum bump because of Barge to Hell.

Not me - only RC cruises I've ever been on are the 70ks, and I've got 32 points

Dallas attended Barge to Hell by mistake, that's where his points come from.
The experience was so traumatic that he can't remember it, and went full power metal after that

Did you ever do 70K in a suite? You get double points for staying in a suite. (Maybe not a Junior Suite; I forget.)

Ah, good work Holmes! That's totally it - had a Junior Suite first cruise :)

I looked for it when I signed up, but could not find where to do that.

Every cruise until the last one. We used to get a booklet with a bunch of coupons for various things (free drink, 2 for 1, free spin token in the casino, specialty coffee, and some others). Once we upgraded ships from the Majesty, the perks were still active but they were preloaded onto your seapass. They would automatically activate, say, when you bought your first beer or coffee. The person running your card would ask if you wanted to use it at the time.
