I am not prepared.

Along with still needing to contemplate packing and in-US travel, I'm giving each of the bands as much of a re-listen as I can to make sure I'm not missing anything. I'm only 20 bands in, I need to pick up the pace something fierce. Because any day now, Andy is going to start piling on bands to add to my load.

Their live show is the selling point. There's the one guy who does the growls, pretty standard, but then there's the other guy who does the traditional Estonian singing. And also he plays every folk instrument imaginable in all of their songs. Live. It's amazing as a fan of that style of music.

I'm generally a fan of folk metal, but I don't really get Metsatoll at all. Might check them out if there's nothing else interesting at the time, but they're certainly not high on my priority list.

Guessing the next band is White Wizzard (blech), but would be thrilled if it was somehow Electric Wizard instead.

Yeah they are on tour with Arch Enemy at the time of the cruise. I was kind of hoping for them as well.

I disagree, but I don't find them as enjoyable as some other bands in the genre. I want either to dance around like a drunken fool or engage my nerdy, mythology reading, History degree holding side, and Metsatoll doesn't really do that for me. But like Phoenix said, it's probably all about that live show and the instruments. I'd catch them if I were just hanging out and saw them on the pool deck.

White Wizzard, I watched one of their videos, my god that's corny.

I'm still patiently awaiting my Cripper thrash bands. I just want to run in circles and try not to slip on the beer.

Metsatöll

It's a shame, when they stick to metal some parts are quite enjoyable. But as every other folk metal band, as soon as they bring the shitty flutes and/or long forgotten instruments out, it's ruining everything for me.

I've seen Metsatoll live a few years ago when they opened for Eluvietie....they were OK....but wasn't really impressed. I'll most likely skip them.

I'll be really surprised if the next band isn't White Wizzard. I used to love this band. Their music sounds a lot like Iron Maiden (it's pretty obvious that the bass player is very inspired by Steve Harris). And if you're into cheesy music videos that are so bad that they're actually kind of good you should check them out. They've had a lot of different lead singers over the years and some of them have been just awful. Haven't kept tabs on this band in a long time but just found out that Wyatt (their best singer IMO) is back with the band and they're releasing a new album in a few days. I'll be checking out one set for sure if these guys end up being onbroad.

White Wizzard does sound like a poor man’s Maiden, but their single “Storm the shores” from the incoming album is excellent, heads and shoulders above what I heard when playing them at random.
If the whole one-hour album coming next week is at this level, I’ll probably catch a set.

As for each year and for all those who hope for Morbid Angel/I am morbid, Knowing the personnalities of Trey and David, you can forget them.

That makes since and they will tour with Enslaved shortly after
on the other hand, White Wizzard would bring some more diversity and Give Jeff Waters someone to sing some classics for the open water segment
