I'll do it this weekend; can't do it from here at work. Hell, it'll be too chilly to do much outside anyway.

Let's see how this works out :)

Now that you mention it, I'll probably work on a couple of genre-related charts tomorrow :)
EDIT: metal genre, just to clarify.

Excellent chart/spreadsheet. I hope more people fill it out to get more data. I would however have to dispute the genre Enslaved was labeled under. Viking would be a theme but not a genre. Unleashed, Leaves Eyes, Amon Amarth, Graveland, Turisas, Yngwie Malmsteen - all have a Viking theme but all have different genres.
bodomdragon wrote:I can agree on that, and as I said on the spreadsheet, I'd be happy to change it.
By the way, I want to thank the anonymous user who helped fill some of the fields in the bands tab. Cheers, whoever you are!

Yes, looking at the less wanted bands, it looks like the death metal fans didn’t show up to vote. All death metal bands are must-sees for me.
I don’t use this format so I can’t vote though (just Yes/No/Maybe), as I almost never see the same band twice (no time), unless the schedule forces me to (e.g. with Sodom), or the first show is off the charts (like with Behemoth, Napalm Death and Anthrax).

Of course you can vote! I suggest you rate the bands from for to 0 instead, regardless of how many shows you'll watch, and give a 5 to your absolute favourite :)

bodomdragon wrote:Now it is more than just a demo and with 30+ polls results start to be a little bit more relevant. The zeroes are significantly higher than before and while Sabaton is clearly the band with more 5's, Dark Tranquillity has a higher overall rate, proving that the former generates more polarized opinions than the latter - although it remains as the women's favourite.

Look, there's something about a bunch of men getting rowdy in camo okay?
I'm interested in your formula for that last one. I went to 35 shows last year, and didn't get to do much else. This year I'm realistically going to a fair bit less than that.
bodomdragon wrote:The last part is quite straight-forward: 4's and 5's count as two shows, 3 counts as 1.5, 2 counts as 1, 1 counts as 0.5 and 0 is 0.
This is actually good proof that most of us are being too optimistic about how many shows we're going to be able to catch.
If I had actual data of how many people end up attending to shows, I could cross that with the ranks and get some really good estimates on how much people would attend to each show from each band, but that sounds a bit far fetched at the moment.

Ahhhh. I've been marking mine a bit differently, since my "1"s are generally bands I want to have a drink on the pool deck with. And not all of them will get pool deck sets.
I'll be happy to keep track of my rankings and how my final show tally shapes up after the cruise. I usually do anyway so my "normal" friends can be impressed by my numbers.
