Damn.
Damn.
I would agree that this doesn’t rule them out by any means. They just played at least 10 festivals over the course of 3 months. If they were now taking 3 months off before a 1 off gig on a cruise, I would consider that a break.Jotunheimr wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 8:42 pm
The cruise is 3 months away. Why would they say “last festival in a while” if their next festival appearance is mere months away? Does “in a while” mean something different where you’re from?
I think having Insomnium play shows without Markus is more feasible than Omnium Gatherum to do the same, considering that OG is his band. OG without Markus would be like Megadeth without Dave Mustaine or SYL without Devin Townsend. I wouldn’t rule out Omnium Gatherum.Danny24601 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 12:55 pm Are Omnium Gatherum really out? They share a guitarist with Insomnium, who has booked a fest in Finland, but Insomnium just went to three guitarists in the understanding that they'd generally only use two at a time. This was intended to allow Ville Friman to pursue his work at university while remaining in the band, but it's easily possible that Ville could make a one-off festival in Finland during the winter school break, leaving Markus free to play with Omnium. Or is that too much of a stretch? I guess we'll find out.
He did not. He has been fairly adamant in stating that he would not return as far as I know.Jotunheimr wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 3:06 pm Does anyone recall if Tobias Sammet enjoyed the cruise in 2012?
That’s a bummer. I thought I remember hearing similar things from Cronos and Jon Schaffer, and both Venom and Iced Earth have played the cruise again years later. Do you recall, Statsman?cowboy71 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 3:13 pmHe did not. I can't complain too much, though, with how great the line up is already.

I'd think LoG is too big for the cruise at this point.Ethrivas wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 5:45 amLamb of God is missing in this list Dallas.cowboy71 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 3:09 pm OUT? - Any bands doing MegaCruise (Oct 13 - Oct 18) 2019 (could be contractual - hard to say):

Ah, that stinks. They were really fun. :(
I'm holding out hope for STEPChildren of Bodom.Shadow Son wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 7:41 am It's a safe bet that Children of Bodom are now ruled out, as 3 of their members are leaving and they announced their last show with the current line-up to be be on Dec. 15. Don't know if this means that C.O.B. are calling it quits, but at the very least I find it highly unlikely that they'll have a brand new line-up ready to go for 70k in less than a month.

They also cancelled their Tuska Festival headline show in June 2020, which was announced only a couple of weeks ago. So I would say they are 100% ruled out.Shadow Son wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 7:41 am It's a safe bet that Children of Bodom are now ruled out, as 3 of their members are leaving and they announced their last show with the current line-up to be be on Dec. 15. Chris really DOES love the cruise, though. I wouldn't rule Therion out just yet. I'm not expecting them per se, but I'd love to see them again.deathmetalpat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 10:55 am Therion ,mainly because Chris just moved from Sweden to Gozo,Malta ,with all the pain of moving and adding he lives in a much warmer climate now;cruise is too big of an additional thing.
On his personal FB page he did a post about moving to Malta,he also posted a real estate listing for his former house. He also asked for help from any familiar with Malta,he added he was trading in lack of sunshine for more winter sunshine. For a very Southern EU location,it is on only the 36th parallel ,which is only equivalent to about South Carolina. But stays very temperate in the Winter due to be an Island in the Mediterranean sea.I always surprised how far South North America is compared to Europe. The big plus for many European cruisers is the sunshine and the anti-depression effect.Pellaz wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 1:42 pmChris really DOES love the cruise, though. (Also, I thought he was moving to Ireland since he has a house there.)
Which house? I know the reason he had a domicile in Ireland and it was a darned good one; it's tax-free for him.deathmetalpat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 2:53 pmOn his personal FB page he did a post about moving to Malta,he also posted a real estate listing for his former house.Pellaz wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 1:42 pmChris really DOES love the cruise, though. "until the band dispute is resolved."
Glad I saw them before they imploded.
Lucky bastard. I have zero interest in Bart's version so this news is fine by me.
Based on what I've heard from both versions, no one has any interest in either. Like parents getting divorced and they both marry assholes. screw em.
The new record from Derph's version is really good IMO, and sounds much more like the debut. I'd love to see that version on board.
