But I don't expect any explanation to be given !
I won't be going this year, it a definite no now. I wasn't sure form the start but with a few wishlist bands announced this summer I could have booked but now that the flights are reaching it has become too expensive... but what little I spared toward 2020 will go towards 2021 (supposing we're coming back to a "normal" situation regarding announcements, bookings etc) and a Hellfest pass if I can secure one this year !
People who can wait some more to book won't be disappointed i'm certain of that and that whole shitshow will be forgotten by the time they embark ! (sure there will be more bitching when announcements start but that's expected !)
Yeah, maybe "an explanation" is too much to ask. An apology? An acknowledgement that this radio silence isn't working? That would be nice.acidbasement wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 7:35 am This cruise is obviously a huge logistical undertaking with a lot of moving parts, and it looks like some of those parts aren't moving right now. He doesn't owe us an explanation, but after 9 solid years, he does owe us a 10th because he told us it was happening and we believed him.
If he still sells plenty of tickets then he has no motivation to change. This year I don't think it'll hurt the bottom line, but assuming there is a next year, I think it'll definitely hurt him unless he starts announcing early cause most people are just annoyed with having to wait and stress about whether or not it's happening.Phoenix wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 7:49 amYeah, maybe "an explanation" is too much to ask. This is what bugs me so much. I hate that there's so many people from all over the world that want to go and can't now because flights are going up, exchange rate is sucking more by the day and so many needs Visas which require proof of booking and accommodations. They want everyone to just assume it's happening and not care about the line up. I haven't been since 2014 cause I ended up always making other plans. I just decided to block off the time for this one since it's the 10th, but all future years are heavily line up dependent.
This is my thinking too. I don't need a "Sorry our CIO left us and some investors dropped out, added to the Visa bullshittery in the USA right now booking and shit has become an issue, bare with us."Phoenix wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 7:49 amYeah, maybe "an explanation" is too much to ask. Exactly, while I'd like an explanation of some sort, doesn't have to be detailed, but I have a feeling they will just act like nothing happened and refuse to even apologize.PotatoPotahto wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 10:29 amThis is my thinking too. I'd just like to see a "Some issues have occured, we apologize for the delay and any inconvenience we may have caused."
Maybe after 9 cruises they have run out of ideas for a new logo?Bolt_Thrower wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 1:06 pm Maybe they’re working out how to make the merchandise even more of a painful process.
And if they come out and say "All went to plan. This is how we wanted it to be"? Some would probably not believe it, right? There is no way, regardless of the reasons behind the late announcements, that UMC can make everyone happy. If they say "Well, sorry, there was some delay" there will be those who will start rumors and start poking around. So either way, people are not going to be happy.
I agree that we probably won't truly know what will happen and it's impossible to make everyone happy, but this is just personally what I'd like to have happen. I'm just mostly annoyed for those that can't go because of the delay. I just drive down to the port, so for me it's not a big deal, I have nothing to lose either way.Amalu wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 9:48 pmAnd if they come out and say "All went to plan. Without being given inside into the whole operation, we will never know for certain if and what is/was wrong.
Just relax! If you can wait longer, then wait. The cruise is all well worth the waiting. At the end we will have a fantastic time on board and leave the boat with a lot of sleep to catch up to.

Having attended Wacken and Sweden Rock, DecibelFest and Psycho Las Vegas each of the last the years, roughly 20 ProgPowers, and a pair of 70Ks, I can say without hesitation, Andy is worst promoter in the business. It's why I no longer go on the cruise. I just refuse to support, with my dollars, businesses that are run by morons. While I genuinely hope, for the sake of all the fans who love this festival, that 2020 is another good year, I will smile widely if this festival comes crashing down on his head. It's nothing less than he deserves.
Statsman found it's from an old confirmation email. I can't find it anywhere except there.
So that means that booking will begin before October 3rd for the Gold but anybody that isn’t Gold will have to pay in full. The last payment would be due on January 3rd ,just 4 days before the cruise and probably after you would get your code from Royal Caribbean to set up everything.jeyrow wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 1:19 pm They updated the date of "pay in full" to October 3 apparently

SOON
TRUE. But if you google for "70000 payment schedule", the top result is an obviously cached snapshot saying "For bookings until October 28, 2018" so its fair to say its been updated in the past 12 months definitely, as to whether it was very recently or not its hard to say:acidbasement wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 2:54 pm Do we know for sure that they updated that page recently?
The Wayback Machine from archive.org doesn't have anything from that page since 2017, so there's no way to check it unless someone here has been actively looking at it in the last few weeks/months.
LOL - yeah I think I mentioned somewhere else that if no explanation is given, then the #1 question that will be asked of the Skipper and ANYONE wearing a 70K Crew shirt next year will be "WHAT THE FUCK?"TOM CRUISE wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 3:12 pm So if no explanation or apology occurs, whose down to wait on pool deck until we see Andy, then we storm him and ask him what happened ?
